called us at 8:45 this morning. Saturday morning. I was asleep. This jerk asked to call for "the lady of the house", said he was with the police, said, "don't worry, you're not in trouble, blah blah."

these [***] just called me too and started with the cheesy line "don't worry, you're not in trouble, blah blah."

I'm on the do not call list but evidently they ignore it.

I received a call from this number last night, asking for money for a police memorial fund.  When I asked what percentage of the money collected actually went to the police, the man calling said "I'm sorry, I'm having trouble hearing you.  I think there's a problem with my headset" and then he hung up on me.  My dad is a retired police officer and was here during the call.  He told me not to donate to these groups because the overhead takes the vast majority of the money.

These are not Police Officers.  They do not represent any Police Agency.  Do not give them any information.

They were quick and polite and not pushy. Just calling about supporting our local police forces.

I am getting several calls a day from the "Police Mem Fnd" as it says on my caller id.  Each call is a different number.  Area Code 360 or 253.  It is never the same number twice.  This has to be a scam.

They're calling at all hours of the day. Won't leave a message on my answering machine. I'm going to report them on the national Do Not Call registry. If they are truly a qualified non-profit agency and really want to help our very deserving police, they would and should not be operating in this way.

Just received a call from this number.  I did not answer the phone and from the other posts here, I'd say that I'm glad I didn't.

Got this call, did not pick up, on pay-as-you-go cell phone so calls cost me money, number from caller ID.  How do we stop these calls?

Called asked for the lady of the house.  My husband said I wasn't home.  Caller said he was calling for Fratnernal Order of Police and wanted donations.  My husband said, "Oh good, I know she will want to talk to you, she's a detective."  Which I am.  They hung up.  He keeps calling them and they keep hanging up!

Have received three calls from "Police Mem Fund" starting a week or so ago. I've been on the National Do Not Call Registry for 1.5 years; this is one of the few that's slipped through the cracks. I haven't answered yet, though next time I may, and have a bit of fun.

Got a call from them this morning. It was after 10, but nothing came up besides "Marysville WA" with the number.
The guy was pretty nice, though I too got the whole "don't worry, you're not in trouble" (I should hope not, I don't even GO to Marysville WA!)and "Isn't it nice to know that our police forces are here for you when you need them?" And thinking about those who gave the ultimate sacrifice and all that. Told me about how many way their payment options could be held and so forth..

Anyway,he told me he'd understand if we said no, which we did, as if I want to donate to the police, I'll do it locally, not for a city over an hour away from our home.

So, he asked if he could call back in 6 months or so. We'll have to see if they wait that long!

(Oh..and for the people on the DNC list..I am too and have been from the beginning. But unfortunately I think this kind of call falls under the charities/political calls that "don't count", so they can still call whenever they want to..ugh!)

Legit. It was the Fraternal Order of Police. They weren't pushy. Just told us about the programs they are working on.

They are not a scam.  I questioned the various differnet phone numbers as well....they have so many diff lines that they have to use more numbers.  It is the Fraternal Order of police and the Memorial. They were nice and are doing fundraisers for a good cause.

This guy calls and starts off with the "don't worry you are not in trouble" line. I tried telling him to stop calling because my number is in the Federal "Do Not Call" registry. He initiated a recording that went on for minutes. At the end of it, I called into the number back and reached this lady who tells me that they have the rights to call me, no matter I tell them not to. I filed a complaint with the Federal "Do Not Call" registry. Hope this WAFOP gets to stop spam calls.

He started off with the "you're not in trouble" line. Then he asked me to spell my first and last name for him. I told him he already should have that info since he asked for me by name when he called. He then asked for my street address. I asked him for his name, home, address and phone number. He started with the "my headset is malfuctioning routine" then he hung up!
Definitly a scam! Don't give tell these jerks anything about youself.

We get calls from this and like numbers every day. Every year my husband gives money to the state firefighters and police, they call from a completely different number then this and always in the early spring.

Last night he tried to question these people about it and as soon as he asked it they hung up on him. Red flags are all over these numbers on different sites.
