- PaulAuto dialer about credit card interest rates -- had to use *69 to get number as I don't have caller ID. These calls come in bunches and if you use the "remove from list" function it makes no difference (#2 on the options list). Plan to contact DNCL and complain -- a;llmy numbers are listed with DNCL. Urge others to do same.
- TerriI received a call this morning, beginning with an automated recording stating "we have made several attempts to contact you regarding your credit card balance, this will be the last attempt...". It goes on and asks you to press "1" to speak to a person. I am assuming this is to alarm someone that they have not made their credit card payments, etc. Well, I pushed "1" only to talk to a woman who wanted to inform me that she'd received all of the information regarding all of my credit cards from the credit card financial institutions, and she wanted to know the interest rates of each card, and the balance. Of course I figured this was a scam, so I asked her how I could verify with my financial institutions that this is a legitimate company. She responded by telling me that she has to qualify me BEFORE she can give me a contact phone number, address, or any other information! I played along and asked her exactly what information she was looking for. She said she needed to verify an account number, but wanted me to read the account number to her!! Of course, I told her that wasn't going to happen, but I really do feel sorry for those who don't know better, and give that kind of information over the phone. If you've learned nothing else.... please demand that they provide a contact phone number, check with your institution, and look the phone number they call you from up online. After I laughed and hung up on her, I called that that she called me from -- only to find out what I already knew... it was a disconnected number.
- Mr. Scumbag HunterAutodial Recording - "This is an important message regarding your current credit card account, We have made several attempts to reach you. This is your final courtesy call before we are unable to lower your credit card interest rate. Press 1 to speak to a member services department or press 2 and your eligibility will expire."

PURE CRAP- Caller: Would love to know
- DanBWas not home. Just checking. I never pick these up anyway. I do not know why they can do this.
- DaveMRecording about lowering my credit card rates. Same company calls on several numbers each week to my phone even though I'm on the Do-Not-Call list.
- PeteThey call all the time! They didn't leave a message THIS time but I keep getting recorded messages about low interest rates on credit cards.
- Very annoyedHave received 2 calls today from same caller. "Your current credit card. We have made several attempts to contact you...." When I press 1 to speak to someone and they answer, I tell them I want this number off their call list and they hang up. When I *69 it, I'm told I can't get the number.
- CarltonI just got the number and called it back just to see what happens. Guess what, the number is disconnected which means that number is being used to fool your caller id. What I have started doing is using the answering machine as my screener and calling only the ones back that I want to talk to. The only calls I pick up are the ones that I recognize the area code or the number. Trying #69 won't work.
I wish I knew there real number. I would call them 5 times a day just to piss them off. - Beasame thing as above, they call several times, when I go to find out more info after the " we've tried to contact you several times" message, I pressed 1, got a woman, played along, she said the company name was "credit card services"
I asked who they worked for , she said mastercard visa- when I asked for a # to call back she said that I had to qualify first- I explained that the # on caller it was disconnected and not legit, she asked what #, when I continued to probe she hung up- how can these people get away with this?- Caller: Credit Card Services

- bensame thing as with everyone else. Has anyone tried to get the fraud division of the phone company on these people?
- DNCLReceived numerous calls about lowering Credit Card rates from this number.
I pressed #1 to talk to the beeacch, asked if she knew she was in violation
of FCC rule xxxxxxx (DNCL) and that I wanted to talk to the manager......
she hung up and I haven't heard back from them. - KennyI appreciate that we have this forum to vent our frustrations about automated calling, but what I want to know is how can we stop them? I get these about once or twice a day. Obviously they're either scams or trying to elicit account info for ID theft. In any case, we should get some laws on the books. The do-not-call lists apparently don't stop the automated calls, some of whom probably work from overseas. If anyone has any info on what to do, please share!
- DonCall came from Daytona Beach - I pressed 1 - Got a guy who answered, asked how I was - I said fine then asked "How do I get you folks to stop calling me once a day" - His reply ? - Quit crying, you're crying like a b#t#h - Then click -
Nice - Roberto ChavezIt's great to vent, but how do we get them to stop calling?
- frankrelentless aggresssive calls from these monsters. HOW CAN WE PREVENT THE CALLS?
i have registed with donotcall.com several times, but alas they seem ineffective. - lilythey even called my office phone. i have no idea how can they get my office number!! I pressed 1 and no one answered.
- R .B.Called me and when I started asking questions he got snippy with me, so I googled his number. When I told him what I was looking at he called me a liar. So I then informed him that I wouldn't do business with him if his tongue came notarized, (Thank you Judge Judy) He got really nasty. Then I told him I'm on the national do not call list and he was in violation and subject to a 10,000 fine, he started screaming at me. I laughed at him and hung up. Scam artists.

- billtI'll have to hook up my old call waiting thingamy, my answering machine does not give me a date or time, and it's half full of these things. I really wish they'd at least honor the part where they say it's my final courtesy call. It's rediculous to have so many messages that give no name or phone number.
