this number tried calling me four times, finally I talked to him.  Dude with an Indian accent.  He said he knew my Windows ID number, got me to look at a few things, and said there was errors on my computer.  He then wanted to connect with my computer.  That's where I got uncomfortable and hung up.

guy with an indian accent said I was having problems with my computer. which I actually was because our telephone provider was having difficulty in our area... for a moment I thought it was our telephone provider phoning me to help me out. he was getting rude and really pushy, getting me to turn on my computer and asking for information off my computer. finally I told him I was running a mac. he didn't want to have anything to do with me. glad that was it, sounds like the same thing that happened to matt in the other post listed above.

Plus, you can't phone him back. Just goes to show you, no matter what is going on and how probable it seems someone is actually trying to help you out on the other end, never, ever, ever give out personal info over the phone!

Claimed to be from Microsoft and wanted to remote connect to my wifes computer because it was sending out a virus.
She told them to go away, but they would not hang up the phone

Reports indicate that if you give them access, they will install sniffer software to access your passwords and banking information.

A guy with an Indian accent claimed to be calling from "Windows" about the "problems" on my fiancee's computer. She told him the computer has been offline for about 2 weeks (which is true) and he seemed flustered but continued to insist there were errors and that she has been downloading spyware and malware. She asked where he got the information and he said the "unique ID on your computer sent it to Windows." She said she wasn't interested in talking to him about these so-called problems and hung up

A guy with an indian accent said he had important information about my computer.  I heard of this scam before and simply told him to get a real job and stop harrassing people and hung up on him.  Like he'll listen..
