Just some telemarketers that like to bug the crap out of people.  Placed them on the do not call list.  so we'll see how that goes LOL.  But they are

Answered no one spoke

Keeps calling but does not leave a message

No one there.  Just disconnects.

Auto-dialed me 3 times in succession on my cell. Left no message. This seems to be very common behavior of these systems now. I'm getting around 3-5 of these trios of calls almost every day. I had a quiet week last week, so I hoped the government busted someone, or the phone companies figured how to block them, but alas, they're back this week. I never answer any calls I don't recognize. Real callers will leave a message.

Called asked if I made 150K a year and if I wanted to borrow money.  scam.

So much for "just use an app to block unwanted calls" as the answer to the problem of the FCC not having a real Do Not Call program.

Received a call from this number, the automated recording stated that google business was trying to desperately reach me. After selecting the option to speak with a representative, I was connected to a gentleman in what sounded to be a call center.
He identified himself as being a part of Google Business and needed to verify my business information, he didn't know which business, but wanted me to verify the "spelling" of it. I didn't stick around longer to find out what other asinine questions were going to be asked.

So, what I've done is put a message on my phone that says basically:

Hi.  You've reached Joe.  If you're getting this message it's either because there's a plague of telemarketing and I don't recognize the number or I'm away from the phone.  If you're family or friend, leave me a message and I'll call you back ASAP.  If you're part of the plague, you probably won't leave a message.  If there's no message and I don't recognize the number, I'll block all further calls from it and notify the FCC so you and they can discuss the fine since this is a do not call number.
