Same thing just happened to our unlisted line phone.  A ringing sound started.  Caller ID says unknown from RI

Just got a call from this number about an hour ago. Some foreigner said something. Couldn't understand them as usual. I think he said his name was Kerpal.

called the number back and says this call cannot be completed as dialed.

About 8:20 CST I got a call from this number.  Saw it on my caller ID and did not pick up.  Let my recorder answering machine answer and there was motion and noise in the background.  The person on the line did not say anything.

i got this call did not answer it I heard that a # with the area code and the prefix the same it was a call that would transfer you overseas to do a survey that would take about 10 min but they dont tell you that YOU are being charged like $35.00 a min. for this call and you have no choice but to pay it your cell carrier will tell you, you have to deal with the overseas company

received phone about 4pm EST yesterday 3/26 from this number. Lady didn't announce herself and then asked how many smoke detectors, fire alarms, and/or fire extinguishers are in my home or apartment? Said that's none of your business and said this conversation is over. Have a good day.Called phone number back this morning and a recorded message kicked in and said unable to make this call please contact your operator.

Just like the guy above me the lady concealed her identity and said this is a 10 min survey and I'll be paid for my time. I just hung up.

What JJ said makes sense to me. This seems like a brand new money making idea from phone scam artists.

received two calls from 401-401-0125 Rhode IS Call which I did not answer, and the caller left no message. I hope the proper authorities take note and investigate these caller's, and prosecute them if found to be taking part in a scheme or scam.

I have an unlisted number and just received a call from this number.  Phone said I had a message but no one talked and eventually the phone was hung up.  I never answer any calls when I don't recognize the number calling.

Noise in back ground ..............man talking but couldn't understand him.

called back and voice said : this number is not in survice .. hang up and dial again.

foreign sounding woman identified herself as "Irene" and said I had won a general electric home security system...told her I wasn't interested, and hung up

Call from this # 401-401-0125 to my business sounded like like the man said Michael and then hung up.

Got a call from this number on our unlisted phone, registered with Do-Not-Call. Didn't answer. Caller ID said "Unknown Caller - RI" The Call Log on Optimum Voice's website identified the caller as "Romania."

calls my husband's cell asking if we have a smoke alarm in our house he tells them not to call again - this has happened at least four times - 2 minutes later the call my cell - so much for do not call list

It's a smoke detector survey scam... we have mulitiple lines (all for business) and they work their way down the lines. Conversation starts out: "This isn't a sales call, we would like to know if you have smoke alarms yada yada yada...)

Have had calls from this number in the past - they called again yesterday and asked about smoke detectors - I asked for their compay name and they hung up.  Today they called twice within 10 minutes - the first was a man - the second was a woman - both had a forien accent. When I asked what organization they were with they hung up.

Same thing happen to us, we told her we had a alarm company and that our home is secured by that, and told her not to call again and remove our number from her dialer and she said " NO NEVER" and hung up.

The best thing we can do is turn it over to your local attorney general office for harassment and tell them that the call is being save on your voice recorder for that purpose. maybe that will stop the invasion of privacy ! which is exactly what I am doing today.. They called late last night. around 8:45
