I received a telephone Monday @ 12:35 pm on my cell phone. Recorded message saying, "You're warrenty on your vehicle is about to expire..."
I clicked 1 to 'extend my warrenty' to which I was placed with a male telephone operator--english speaking (no accent). He said, may I have the year/make/model of your vehicle. I asked, what company is this? "This is Warrenty Services" I asked, "how did you obtain my telephone number?" He replied, "we populate our telephone numbers from a wide range of databases with people who purchased cars between 1998 and 2008"
I did purchase my vehicle in 2006. The '3 year' anniversary date is approaching this december. Acura (Honda Financial Services) must have forwarded my telephone number to them.
I asked to be placed on the do not call list, to which he said "done" and promptly hung up.
