This number keeps calling our business location and, when we answer, they hang up.  Very annoying!

These people keep calling for someone else then hang up when I ask where they are calling from.  Then they call back the next day....very ignorant and unprofessional!

They called me about a medical bill from 2006...what!! really!! No contact from anyone until now, no letter or call not even from the dr's office where I go every year for a physical.   They just expect me to hand over money now.  I really think I paid this bill but how after this long can I prove it.  Also, according to NE state law an open account can only be collected on up to 4 yrs.  Well I think it's past 4 yrs!!!!

Are you sure about that 4 year thing?  Cause they put it on my credit report and I was told it would be on there for 7 - 10 years!!!  They keep calling my work number and hanging up cause they know they aren't legally supposed to harrass you at your place of employment.

Similar situation - this was a bunch of medical bills through Creighton.  I applied for financial assistance at the time and was approved, however, these bills had already been sent to collections and they said they could not get them back.

However, at this time time, I also received financial assistance at UNMC and they had also sent bills to collections, but they pulled them back out and applied them to my approval for assistance.

Go figure!

statute of limitations for consumer debt = 4 years.  after that, tell the collection agent that YOU will seek damages in court if they proceed to harass you further.  Marie is dead wrong ....or is from a collection agency trying to misinform people on this thread.

I keep getting calls from this number, but no one ever leaves a message.

I have medical bills I can't afford to pay right now. I keep getting calls from this number, and I don't answer it. I owe 575 in medical bills. I can only pay when I can afford it. I am a single mother. My mom said I am what Dave Ramsey refers to as Judgement proof.

This number calls all the time and during a time nobody is able to answer the phone, it says cell number on Caller ID, but when answered nobody talks.  I assume it has to be a collector doing their job.  I would be more then willing to square up with my debts, however I need more then what they tell me off their screen and their word...remember they call and do not talk and when I call back they say to pay an amount and they can-not prove I owe, they can only say the computer says you owe.

Very Un-Professional and Ignorant; Collectors get your facts all together and ready to send out to me by the next businss day so I can get it within 7 days.

Yes! They do it to me too... everyday at out business. They never say anything, just hang up. I hate it!!

Is that 4 years after the bill goes to collection or 4 years after treatment? Just wondering still being harassed bill was accrued in 2007

It's 4 years after the last reported date on your credit report, or of last attempted contact. Once you speak to them, however, the statute of limitations starts all over.
