This number is calling me everyday, and I have no answer.

its a collections dept of a student loan company with NSLDS.

Actually, I just read on another site that they could be scammers: some other parties said they had no loans, no debt, but were receiving the calls. Some persons said the callers asked for their SSN & birtdate "to verify;" NEVER, ever give that out!!

If you're on the "do not call" list, as I am, PLEASE report them ASAP!! We all need to stick together against scammers!!

I have this number calling me almost everyday. I do have student loans, like most other sites say that this is who it is, but they are ALL w/ the Dept of Education or Sallie Mae.
They never left voicemails before but now they are, kinda, all that I hear is like a hold music for 6+ minutes until my voicemail cuts them off.
I have no evidence that these people are anything but scammers. I am on the no call list but still get calls...

I'm not answering someone that can't spell in English, especially if they're claiming some relation to education.

caller id says "FOUNDATION FOR" and gives the number.

and i AM on the DNC list....

This number calls constantly, all day to my cell phone while I'm at work.  Not sure what they want and why they're calling.  No matter what the reason I'm not able to discuss personal matters or matters unrelated to work.  Of course, they do not leave messages.  I'm also on the DNC list so I'm not sure why I'm getting these calls.

they just called my cell phone, I answered since it was area code 402 and that is where I live.  I have student loans but they are on in-school deferrment.  I never confirmed I was "My Name" and he asked for me to verify my address, social security number and date of birth.  I told him no, he called me.  Told him I would not discuss any student loan information since I am on in-school deferment.  He told me that he could not verify deferrment status unless I gave him my information.  I asked to call him back and he gave 888-434-6548 as 'their number'.  Asked for his extension and he said he doesn't have one.  Funny, when he called he said his name was Brian, but when I asked for his extension and he said he didn't have one, I should ask for him by name, Troy.  HMMMM...They're website is nslc.org, just FYI.

I have been getting calls from this number for weeks. Never leave a message so they must be a scam agency. Most legit companies will leave a message.

Its a call center for Student Loans from the Department of Education.  I've confirmed this is them.  www.acs-education.com

When the Department of Education had to take over Student Loans, they designated certain companies to manage the accounts.  ACS is one of them as is Great Lakes.

This is a scam and you are posting as part of it, shame on you. We all need to follow our instincts and not disclose any personal information.

No, it's not a scam.  It's the same number thats on the bills I get from them.

Just wanted to mention the DNC list.  You said you were on it.  The rule is if they are soliciting, they cannot call you.  If you do business with them, you gave them permission to bypass the DNC list.

I just receive a call from this number for my husband and told me to call back to 888-434-6548 (no extension).  I told him to send an email or send my husband a letter and he said they could not email or mail anything.  I asked what it was about and he said it was a Federal Education Business matter that could only be discussed with him.  Not ever calling this number back and if they continue to call I will give them a piece of my mind!

It is the National Student Loan Service Center. They are calling to tell you that you are behind on a student loan that you probably have in forbearance. They are scammers and are chucked full of crap.

Junk call.  I dont know why they keep calling me.
