This was PayPal (live, not automated) calling to confirm some recent activity and changes to my PayPal account.

PayPal will not make phone calls to you. That's an attempt to steal your information.

402-935-7733 made a call to my UK mobile phone, I missed the call but it was logged on the mobile.  Do you know who the caller is?  I don't ever receive calls from US numbers although I do business over the internet and have made purchases from the US so my details are no doubt logged somewhere?

Any ideas?

Just received a call from this number - 402-935-7733 - it was PayPal doing the same to me - verifying transactions and details re my PayPal account and ebay activity, a bit obtrusive if you ask me, questions like "where do you get your items that you sell?" and "do you intend to keep selling this sort of item?"
Have a feeling I will be closing my PayPal account pretty soon.
By the way, I did call PayPal and confirmed the call from 402-935-7733 was 'legitimate'.

Update - just tried to login to my PayPal account and found that I couldn't login without resetting password, security questions etc., as, (according to PayPal) there had been unusual activity on the account. I called PayPal and they said yes, the earlier call was because of the unusual activity, so I asked why didn't they say something then about locking out the account, they said it was because they couldn't confirm who they were talking to when they make phone calls - which seems to nulify any attempts to 'verify account activity'and also begs me to ask why then did the person who called me tell me what my account balance was and what I'd sold recently? - anyway, I reset passwords, security questions etc and eventually logged in. One thing still bugs me though, there has not been any unusual activity on the account, I log in from the same computers (home and office) almost every day and have done for months, I only transfer money to my bank account and use my PayPal debit card (no transfers to other 'unknown' accounts) so what was so unusual?

I would like to know someone can sign in with my credit card. Because I found someone use my credit card to pay for 100USD twice time, 1st time in January and 2nd time in February. And it shown on my statement is PAYPAL 4029357733 SGP.  Can someone who respond for this can check for me, would be appreciate.

I just had 2 charges on my bank account with this reference number 4029357733 for paypal. I don't even use a paypal account only did once some time ago. My bank removed the first charge yesterday but the same amount was posted today noted differently. Yesterday it ws CK Crd purchase today with bank card.

This phone number is from PayPal, generally to verify that you authorized payments that are out of the ordinary for you.  In other words, if you just randomly sent someone 300$, that raises a flag.  It's a protective measure for you, and they don't ask for any information, just a simple: "I'm calling to verify that you authorized a payment in the amount of _______ for _______."  You say yes, they say "Ok, we just wanted to make sure.  Thank you for your time."

Done and done.

I just had two random charges to my credit card under Paypal and 4029357733.  Only problem is I haven't used that card in a month.  Seems like a scam.  I'm going to call my credit card company asap...

A charge appeared on my statement from LED Gauges Co. through PayPal.
This phone number was next to the company name.
I have NEVER used PayPal & never will. The card used was lost
and fraudulently used.

Just got a call from the 402-935-7733.  They identified themselves as being from paypal.  She gave me a number for special customer service.  Incase I didn't receive an item in a timely manner.  They didn't ask any personal info.  Just gave me the number (866-775-7802).

Follow Up -- I called Paypal by using the number from the SECURE paypal website.  I told the agent about my phone call and she said that the customer service # I was given was legit and that the original call was noted in my account.

I missed a call from 402-935-7733 today. I looked the number online and saw paypal attached to it. Returned the call to ask why they called. They wanted to confirm I actually authorized a payment. Security measure.

Oh...no call.  Just a charge to my credit card for $52.14, that VISA caught on their end as fishy.  This is the second time I have had a PayPal charge that wasn't mine in probably the past year.  No more PayPal for me to keep things simple.  I will even quit buying/selling on eBay.

my Ame credit card has several of these numbers and hefty charges.  any idea why?

i never got a call-they just charged me twice on the same day in total of 650 dollars via paypal.  who are these people and how can we stop them? i don't even use paypal.

This actually showed up on the statement for my business checking account. Something for $50 exactly was charged and the only other info on there is WESTAFSTORE. I rarely, if ever, use this particular debit card and I only do online banking so I asm suspect. I don;t know if it's related but at roughly the same time, I also had a charge for comxo.com which is some kind of phone servie in the UK. I'm in the states.

This phone number is valid. I made a large transfer today moving  my money out of my paypal account. Paypal rep asked me if this transfer is valid. I am actually glad Paypal does this since this protect my acct.

I have some charges on my bank statement from Paypal *JJORGEN, 402-935-7733, CA for $1000 and another from Paypal *Hometown, 402-935-7733, IL for $173.24. I don't know where they come from. Looks like two different businesses in different states but with the same phone numbers. Does anyone know anything about either of these?

I have charges on my bank statement from Paypal *ZBGYTW 4029357733 CA for $281.97. Just called my bank to stop terminate my debit card and to fill out a fraud avidavit. Only realized transaction after getting a Overdraft notice from my bank.
