I received a phone call from a man saying he was from a company called Canada Auto Index and Index media. He said his name is Jermery.  And he wanted me to pay him $300 to get the paperwork started on his end for a possiable sale of my vehicle that I had advertised in the Autotrader.

He wanted all the information on it....when I asked him if HE was the buyer  he told me that he worked for a financing company that would give me a "guranteed" sale, because his client was approved for more than the price of my jeep and asked for more photos and personal information.

I got a call from a guy named Daniel. He said he has a client who is a university student, his company has qualified her for 20,000$ for a car. None of the cars they had were what she wanted and she found my ad in the auto-trader.
His company, Canada Auto Index, will pay me 20,0000$ (even tho I am only asking 18,900$ for my car) if she likes the car. All I have to do is interact email transfer 400$ today to get the process started.
He stated the money was for titling of the car, fees on making a bank draft for me.

Hmmmm...when I said I didn't have an online bank account information he asked me to register and call him back as soon as I could. That was all.

I called back. Got a voice mail right away saying to leave my name. There was no company name in the voice message.

I received a call yesterday, first from 780-669-8564, I think he said his name was Michael, an Australian accent.  Said he a guy named Jeff who was interested in my truck.  Said their company deals in high-interest loans to those with poor credit ratings.  Same as above, pay to get things started and he wanted the VIN for my truck so they could make sure it's clean.  I asked if I could pay the $389 after Jeff looked at my truck and he said that I could not because the tax man would then be involved.  I asked for a copy of their statment that gaurantees the refund of the $389 if the sale does not happen.  He was sounding very convincing up to this point.  He quickly asked for my email address, said their administration department would email it out, but he suddenly had to go because he had someone on the other line and he would call me tommorrow.  Yah, we'll see if he does.  I wonder if he has Immigration papers to run what sounds like a scam???

Under NO circumstances should you give any money to anyone claiming to have a buyer for your car.  My son got caught up in this same scam recently and lost $300.  Cheap lesson for him, I hope.  They are quite convincing on the phone because they are PROFESSIONAL CON ARTISTS and CRIMINALS.  Do not deal with any of them, say what I wish I could say now and hang up.

Got took for 438$ I have enough info to incarcerate with some help from others who have been scammed.Take every thing you have to your local RCMP with enough people involved we can put these (fill in the blank) in JAIL!!

Got took for $421 as well, and there is nothing I can do about it cops said they cant get my money back the bank said the same thing, and everyone else I tryed was a pretty much dead end! These guys are good, and I really hope they [***] the wrong person!!!

This guy just called me saying that he needed me to give him approval for the "professional" way of doing this, (which he explained he'd take a percentage of the sale price, in this case it was about $800 and i wouldnt have to pay until the car was sold) but then told me it would be cheaper to just pay him the $489 up front. Yesterday when i talked to him it was $378. When i told him we might as well do it the professional way since i didnt know who he was and what company he was with, he got very defensive and started telling me that the professional way was actually going to cost me about $1700, trying to convince me that it would now be a bad decision. He was making himself look really bad, so I'm glad i checked this out! SCAM ALERT!!!

When i asked for a website i can look him up on he was claiming that he was from autocredit.ca , and that finance company was with citi finacial.

This is bad! some one needs to stop this! I had know idea there were so many people getting scammed out there. They only got me for couple hundred
but it is a scam! indexmediaautos and canadaautoindex are the same site all rite! and caller ID BLOCKED I should have figured that it was a scam sooner BUYER BEWARE there are no buyers!

You should report these scams to PhoneBusters.com  This is a site where fraud complaints can be centralized and it provides a source to see how large the problem is. This enables resources to be more focused on the investigation.

The F##kers got me but I'm fighting back I'm telling the word about them I dont no a hole lot about Indexmediaautos or Canadaautoindex but Allautosfinanced got the same Scam going on too. They offer a guarantee to sell you car within a 90 day period and charge $200 to place an add on their website. That is all very well, but as soon as they have taken your money they disappear and don't respond to email or phone.

I got screwed in the a$$ for $200 too, and I didn't even get a jar of vaseline to ease the pain.

I'm reporting the [***] to the ISP.  Maybe at least get the site taken down.

I am getting calls from Kevin Munkman. My question is, why have none of you filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau? They've got a clean bill of health there, so if these scams are happening, why aren't you reporting them?

I received a call from out of the blue from Index Media Autos after the call I came very close to listing my corvette with them on www.indexmediaautos.com after the phone conversation I told the sales person that I'll get back to him in a few days and would like to think about listing my car. The next day I looked on my phone after work and seen that I missed 14 calls 4 that were him, remember I told him I would get back to him not him call me!. Well eating supper the same sales person called me again I told him that I'll call him when I'm ready to list my car he seemed a little pissed and I let him go. Now after being harassed in my mined I decide two research Index Media Autos out on the net WOW . In only one hour I found out that there is all kinds of these SCAMS out there! Over the next two weeks I received 2to6 more calls from Index Media Autos "I NEVER PICKED UP THE PHONE AGAIN" I should have known that it was a scam "they call you with the phone blocked"  I listed my car all over the net on many different sites and that is how they found my car information. If any one gets a call just hang up if your looking to sell your car or truck list it on kijiji its FREE and you'll get the best response on your ad there. The best news of all is that I thank www.indexmediaautos.com for the work there going to give me! There not properly registered to do telemarketing in Canada or the U.S I have all the calls saved they have harassed me when I told them to stop he still call back a week later. The bad this is they when your a telemarketer you never know who your calling well MY NAME IS CHRISTOPHER BECKETTE I DO LEGAL WORK IN THE WINDSOR AREA AND WOULD LIKE TO REPRESENT ANY ONE THET HAS LISTED THERE VEHICLE ON THIS SITE AND HAS NOT GOT WHAT THEY WERE PROMISED OR TOLD OVER THE PHONE. Index Media Autos is a SCAM!!! I listed my car with Kevin Monkman with a money back guarantee if my car didn't sell within 90 days. He told me he had buyers lined up, but nothing ever happened! I submitted my form for the refund and never received a check. I talked to Eugene and said he would follow up, but never heard from him again, despite my phone calls. So, don't listen to the replys in this forum from Danny or Kevin or Eugene they are lying to you and are just out to scam you!
Just do what I did, simply have the charges reversed on your credit card! That's the beauty of paying with a credit card, just dispute the charges for the refund that was due to you. This is the way to fight back!

I just called from Mike Turner, same CRAP! He says I can either pay $300 up front or 5% after it sells, so lets get started, he then lets me know in a follow up call that the company has too many after it sells commissions, even though he assured me many times they don't care about the commissions because they make all their money financing the deal. Sounds just like AMS Auto Market services. Stay away
