I got the usual "lower your credit-card rate" call, a few minutes ago.
They want to harvest my credit-card number, expiry-date, and security-code (from the back of the card), so they can rack up charges.
Their caller-ID information probably was falsified.

I got a call from 403-879-9001. I don't usually answer calls from long distant numbers I don't recognize. I decided to answer  this call and when I said hello the caller had an accent and I couldn't understand the last name of the person they were asking for. I said I was not the person they were looking for and the caller repeated the name. I immediately became suspicious because aprox a month or two ago someone had called me and did the exact same thing and it turned out to be a scam. Once again I told them I was not the person they were calling and told them to stop calling me and scamming me and told them to fu** off and hung up. So far they have not called back since.

I just got a call from this number wanting my birthdate and card #.  Initially said they were lowering my interest rate on M/C and Visa then went to Visa only.  Very difficult to understand the person on the other end.

Just received a call from this number with 10 0's (zero's) above the number on my call display.  They asked to speak to a person who was not the one who answered the phone - I asked if I could take a message and they said no and hung up.  The female on the other end had an accent.

Just received a call from thIS number asking for info.  I received a call yesterday which came up with several 0's.  I answered some of their questions but when they asked for my last eight numbers of my credit card I told them I was not interested.  When they called this morning I blasted them and told them I was not interested.  He asked why and then I lost it.  He continued to talk and I told him to shutup and listen to me.  I yelled, he was guite that is when I told them if visa was going to lower my interest rates I would get it in writing then hung up.  Both times you could hardly understand them.  Couldn't make out what their answer was when I asked what country they were calling from.  I would say this is one big scam.  Watch what you are doing.  When I called the number back to check it was said that the number is not in use.   BEWARE.

Got a call from this number about an hour ago. Said it was Visa and since I was such a good customer they were going to lower my rate to 5% for my lifetime. I said if Visa was going to lower my rate they would contact me not some number with an area code in Alberta.

Was called by this number. Told me a lower interest rate was being offered. I said the Visa cards ( mine and my spouses) were not activated yet. He said that he could activate them for me. Stupidly, I gave him both credit card numbers, the secret 3 digit code on each card, both of our birthdays and email address and last 3 digits of our SIN #'s....thinking I was activating the cards.  Then the call got weird.....I was transferred to another person and told there was a $495 dollar charge for lowering my interest rates. It was not until then that I realized this was a scam. I told him I was not interested and they hung up on me. Feeling SICK I gave out all this information, I immediately phoned visa to cancel the cards that weren't even activated yet. Hope they don't try to steal our identities with this info. Just feel sick about this!

I am the Executive Assistant at Bridges For Peace.  We received a all from one of our donors in Winnipeg that they received a call from 403-879-9001 using the name of our Office Assistant and asking for the credit card information. This must be a scam.  I wonder how many others have received the same call and recognizing our Office Assistant's name thought it was legitmate.  What can we do to stop this.  The number is out of service if you try to phone.

They are still at it. Could hardly understand the male caller. Immediate red flag as scammer, said Visa wanted to lower interest rate. Big fat chance of that, lol. Kept him on the line for quite a while wasting his time asking to repeat, chatting about current news topics, the weather, etc. He kept asking me to verify birth date.  I told him they would have all that info on our file if he just looked. Finally got tired of the game and said I would like wait for my son to get home who could hear better than myself. Told him my son was with a police department working in the fraud dept. CLICK   lol

Calling with regards to my Visa AND Mastercards.  I asked what it was about twice and they hung up.  Obviously a scam.  Highly unlikely that you would have both Visa and M/C with one company.

Caller had very thick Indian accent. Claimed his name was Danny Williams from Visa/MC .  Said my credit history was great and I always made my payments on time.
I laughed and said yes, I do have a great credit history.  It's hard to miss a payment when you don't own a credit card.  ( I honestly don't own a  credit card! )
He then said oh, I'm sorry.  And I  hung up before he could continue.
Better luck next time Scammer  Danny! Hahaha!
