Caller states her name is Karen Rogers and I am a suspect in a fraud case. She will not ask for anyone by name, just says "you are a suspect". When I ask "who is" she will not give a name.

Call is a recording stating my phone number has been identified in a fraud investigation that may involve my name and other information, and to press 1 to speak to an agent but the call disconnected from the caller's end before this could be done.

this is karen Roberts from central crime division you are a suspect for a crime downloaded in your county. have your attorny of record or you call back.. no agency no jurisdiction mentioned. very threatening I think its a scam or debt collector

this is karen rogers calling from the financial crime division i have you listed as a central subject and after criminal investigation being downloaded in my accounting today i need to speak with u or retain attorney inmediately regarding this matter >>>>SPAM calls

I have been getting the same calls as of yesterday from the same person.  

I have received 3 of these calls on my cell phone over the last 3 days, I answered the third one today and received a recording stating that my phone number has been identified in a fraud investigation that may involve my name and other information, and to press 1 to speak to an agent, I pressed 1 and got a Karen Rogers on the phone who informs me I am a suspect in a fraud case. She never told me the jurisdiction only that at this time the prosecuting attorney has declined to prosecute, and this me be my one opportunity to avoid prosecution, She then stated my name and my former address, , she stated the persons seeking prosecution were a check cashing place and that they has attempted to contact me at my old address I informed it was a hotel I had to move and they do not forward, that I have no money as my car broke down, unfixable, there is no public transportation within the city or around where I am currently living I therefore lost my job as I could not get to where they had me working out of, I filed for unemployment and was denied as I am unable to look for or take on unemployment due to lack of transportation. She indicated she would note this to my file. TAKE NOTE THIS IS A COLLECTION AGENCY, if you can block the call block it, I am reporting it to the national do not call agency as a collection agency who is misrepresenting themselves.

I have dealt with another collection agency for this same check cashing company who threatened to take my drivers license, a drivers license can only be taken over a moving violation, insurance or child support issue.

This is what I do.  I put on my sweetest southern belle accent & tell whomever that I'd like to cordially invite them over for some home made cake, & a pot of coffee.  I tell them we will then sit down w/ the chief of police, & with my father, who just happens to be an attorney, so that we have a nice little chat about the scam they're running. That's done the trick.  No more calls :)

These people are NOT a collection agency.  They are backed by some Indian dude who does nothing but perpetrate scams on vulnerable people.

Same message from a Karen Rogers in central booking crime division saying I owe money for a pay day loan I took out for 600$. I found out I pay day loans are illegal in New York retained attorneys who said they have to verify the loan is legal within 90 days, which they did not. Because even if you did take out a pay day loan and live in NY State they know it's illegal and they cannot prosecute you. Block them if you can. They are a collection agency.
