left a message that they had a complaint about me...scam

Don't know who this is but has called from several numbers with same message:
Hello a formal complaint has been filed in our office concerning a bad check  written in your name please call 1-866-372-8831
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

say i have bad check out witch i don't have any check accounts

Got this call from several number I rejected the from calling my phone but they still leave this message "Hello a formal complaint has been filed in our office concerning a bad check  written in your name please call 1-866-372-8831
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter."  I don't have a checking account, Haven't had one since 1997.

Right! How on earth do they have my work number?  I work in a governmnent office.  I hope they get burned!

Telling me I'm going to be "served" I don't even write checks anymore - totally bogus and they r calling a
government office.  Weirdos.  

Always a recorded message saying I have a complaint filed against me and they have all my information. I try to call back and get a message machine. When you answer the call it is always a recorded message I have never heard of anyone trying to put a lawsuit against you that your not served or atleast sent something in the mail they don't call on the phone. Plus each time they call they never put a live person on the phone and never address you by name. I'm not sure what their looking to get out of people when you don't talk to them.
