I keep getting this call around 9am. The Number is listed to a landline with an unlisted number on their phone; which is in the Northern part of Georgia. But if you call it back it says the phone is not in working order.  

If that's true, how do they keep calling me at 9am? This is starting to get to feel like harrassment from a silent caller.

I am also getting calls from this number and the caller isn't saying anything and when you call it back it says the the number is not in service.  This has been going on for a week now.

Got a call from this number didn't answer it caller ID said "Local Area Call". Um NO 404 area code is not a "local area call" for Silver Spring, Maryland. They left no message of course. I don't know if these jerks have tried calling me before or not.

Today June the 28 at 8.47 this number 4044928592 called to our house.
We did'nt piked up the phone because this has been gone for months.
There are more numbers with these kind of crepy attitude, this numbers
are:8133773629 and 18003709744(ssking money for children with AIDS)
and alot of numbers harrassing us every day.
I need a housephone because we are foreign students and needs to call with
our parents at home.We never expect this from the people in this country.

This is everyday the same thing and it is not one call, there are somethimes
12 calls a day, thats why we are afraid.

I got a call from this number today - no answer and saying nothing.  When you call it back it says the the number is not in service.

Have gotten repeated calls - including today, Saturday @ about 9:30 AM from 404-492-8592.  This has been one of a series of calls in the past ten days from this number and other "404" numbers with no caller ID, no answer when one calls back, and leaving no messages.  Suspect that one is from organization identifying itself as FOP of Georgia.  Others may be fringe paid solicitation "charities" asking for donations via credit card.  Suggestion - let call go through to answering machine - if it is legitimate, they will leave a message.

I too am now getting these call, for the past two weeks. I am not sure from who, but no one answers back. The calls are at all times of the day.

If anyone have any insight on why thses calls are happening (or they just calling to see if this is a good number to pass on tp the real scammers?) please let us know.

This is a fraud, SCAM for the organization identifying itself as FOP of Georgia. It is a SCAM!!!

The caller is asking for donation and he said he is with the Georgia fraternity Police, I suspect is a scam,  beware

My business received a call from (404) 492-8592 this morning (1/02/12) at 11:15 a.m. The caller identified himself as James Thomas and asked to speak with the owners. After being informed that they were unavailable, Mr. Thomas pressed for their names. I asked what the call was regarding, and was informed that he was looking for "charitable contributions for veteran's children and fingerprinting programs." I asked what number he could be reached at, and he said there was no contact information or way for us to contact him because he was "calling from a national call center." I informed Mr. Thomas that if he had no contact information, we would not make any contribution. I *69'd the number, and it came back as (404) 492-8592.

Solicitations for donations from this phone number / caller / organization are not legitimate.

I got a 3 minute long voicemail on Google Voice but they apparently didn't realize the line was open. I heard the many solicitations going on and a guy barking to the operators to "hurry up" From what I could make out, they were soliciting for the "Fraternal Order of Police for Georgia" about sponsoring children. I've had these people call before and also read warnings in the newspaper about it being a phishing scam.

Becarfull I just received a call from this number about missing children help.

this is the faternal order for police asking for donations

This phone number is from the Fraternal Order of Police soliciting donations.

I just get a call from this number asking for a donation but I quickly guess that it was a scam because this person was in a way pushing me to choice the amount of my donation that it was among 100-150 dollars, when I ask him to send me a letter with the info of his org he keeps asking me for the amount, so I decide to finish this conversation saying that I was too busy and need to hang the ph.

the reason when you call the phone number back they are using a VOIP server and its only allows outgoing phone calls there for you could not tract the number or even found out who ownes it with out finding out what the SID number for that number is.
