Answered and it hung up right away. Afraid of what could happen. DO NOT ANSWER.

This company has called 2-3 times per day for the past month - most often is 8:45am EST and 8:45pm EST. The first time I answered I questioned them as to how they acquired my daughter's name and our phone number - and they indicated that she has "signed up in school". When I asked my daughter she said she has never done such a thing. I've been home to answer the phone on a few occasions after that and they've hung up. Tonight I answered and stressed to them to not call anymore. The caller stated "So you have no interest in your daughter's future?" I asked him if he was selling something, and before he could get out his pitch I again told him not to call. His reply was "So you don't want your daughter to have a good education, do you?"

These people - like many unscrupulous telemarketers - are scum!

I called back & had them take my number off the list. It has worked so far this week.

They called asking for my child and asked for her parents?! My in laws got scared n thought it was her camp and something wrong!!

I have been getting calls for weeks. I just spoke to a man asking about my child by name. He claim the child signed up to take SAT again. I asked who he was with and he claimed SAT. I asked again and was told SAT company. I needed to buy this program or my child will not get scolarship.

They call every day, I finally answered and they hung up, so I called the number back to tell them to stop calling and the number would not go through - is there anything we can actually do about these calls?

They called and asked to speak to the parents of my son.  They called him by name, but the red flags went up in my mind immediately so I told them the parents (me) were not home.  Hate that these people are using children to try to get what they want.

These people have been constantly calling my old number, now my cousins number! They called me by my name, and asked if they could speak to my parents. My cousin informed them that it was no longer my number, so they said "Ok" then hung up.

This was from WordSmart.  I called the number back after they called three times in 20 mins without leaving a message.  I visited the WordSmart website about three days ago, curious about the system they're selling. Somehow they figured out my phone number just from my from my IP address or something freaky because I didn't fill anything out or do more than click a couple links.  This is sneaky and underhanded and now they are off my list of anybody I would ever buy anything from.

No prior contact with this company, and we are on DNC registry.  Can a class action suit be initiated?

WordSmart Called and no one spoke on the other end, I called their toll free number 1-800-958-WORD(9673) and finally got someone on the other end.

I spoke with a lady who explained to me that they used a dialing service and that no one on their end was available to take the call when it auto-dialed me, I said that was a crappy way of doing business.  She said that a high school age student  requested the contact, I said BS, we don't have a HS aged kid.

They just called me back again three times in a row, after about 2 whole weeks of blessed silence.  It is not an auto-dial service.  I know this because I answered the phone with, "What the **** do you want?!  Why do you keep calling me!"  And they immediately hung up on me.

This number has called several times in the last few days. WS learning on caller ID. Today I answered and got a person on the other end. Male voice using my son's name, he ask to speak to his mom or dad. I identified myself as the mom and asked who him who was and what he wanted. He quickly hung up on me.  Very creepy. I reported it to DNC and  blocked the number.

So they've called us four times today. I finally caved in and answered the phone, since I wanted to chew them out. Dead silence on the other end.

They have called me 3x today & 2x yesterday.  I called them back & he kept asking me if I was the parent or student.  I instructed him that it did not matter & to remove my # from his calling list.

I used the message from below  to call their toll free number 1-800-958-WORD(9673)  I got a person and he claims that the number will be removed from thier list - we will see.....  She also says she doesn't know where they got her number from, odd

You can tell when an unknown caller (or a non familiar caller id) is bogus or legit: A legitimate caller will definitely leave a voice message explaining the reason and the importance of their call.

Otherwise, is either a telemarketer or a malintentioned caller.

We never answer the phone if we don't recognize the caller id, and if they insist and keep calling back... I have fun picking up and hanging up immediately LOL

I told them twice already, my daughter is a freshman in college, so we have no need of their services. They must have an old list.  They still kept calling and hanging up. I finally called the number back, pressed 1 (rather than listen to their pre-recorded message/sales pitch) and got a person on the line. They said they'll take my number off their call list. We shall see!

They will keep calling no matter how many times you tell them to stop. They are violating the do not call list. Everyone please file a complaint at www.donotcall.gov
