Got a call from them tonight, and if it really is OSU calling... how pathetic that you call me on a Sunday night. LEAVE ME ALONE.

This number has been calling me indentying themselves as Oklahoma State University Alumni

Yes this is OSU Alumni also calling me on a Sunday night. Told them they should pay me for wasting my time talking to them on a weekend!!!!

Really, a phone call gets you this over the top from your alum... Geesh, chill pill

It's OSU alumni asking for donations. I told them that I'd just graduated from med school and this have almost 200K in tuition loans to pay off, and asked them to remove me from their calling list and that I will donate in ten years when I am ready. Of course, they didn't do this. They always call when I am post-call and trying to catch up in sleep before my next long shift. Aggravating. I get these calls from both my undergrad school and medical school and they never listen. Makes me not want to donate.

When they call nonstop after you've requested to be removed from their list, and it is always at the worst possible times like when you're asleep because you're working night shift...yeah I think maybe you'd be aggravated to. Jerk.

Do not provide ANYONE your credit card information over the phone!! This could be a couple of people calling from Stillwater. There is no information given other than stating they are from the OSU Alumni Association. This may or may not be legitimate.

Most Alumni Associations do call, but not multiple times in a week, not after 8pm M-Th and not on weekends! Also, if you ask to be removed and they call again, then they are showing they may not be legitimate. Anyone can say they are someone else over the phone, with no real ID.

The best way to figure this out is to contact the OSU Alumni Association and ask to speak to the secretary. That person will give the proper information. Also, give this number and find out if this is one of their contact numbers. If it is, report the negligent acts; if they are not legitimate, report them to the Alumni Association and ask them to put a stop to this. NO SCHOOL should have dishonesty attached to them and calling their Alumni asking for donations.

They keep calling me. Didn't go to OSU. Father went to OU, though. So it is really confusing.On top of that I'm living in Central America. Don't want to answer AND pay international rates.

Not sure how they got my cell phone number.  I did go to OSU but never been a member of the alumni association and have never talked to them.

Keep calling me well after 9:30 pm aa I am on EST and they are on CST.  Not to mention they are calling my cell phone.....

I have yet to answer calls from this number because they don't leave messages but I had a suspicion it was the alumni association. They called last year and would not hang up or let me end the conversation so I finally committed $10, which I had to tell them 300 times I will pay by mail not over the phone. I'm thinking because I did finally give in to donating last year, that's why they have been calling me EVERY SINGLE DAY for the past few weeks. They will try different hours of the morning, mid day and evening to see when I will pick up. But I have not picked up this year because I know what's coming!

Actually, you are very wrong. OSU Foundation calling hours are 6-9pm Monday through Thursday, then Sunday 3-6pm and 6-9pm. There are sometimes additional hours during the weekday to meet various goals for fundraising but those times vary. Check your facts before you blatantly lie.

The best way to prevent calls from the Foundation/Association is to go to their website and delete your phone number(s)that are listed.

Also, how do you think schools fundraiser exactly? If they don't reach out to their alumni, it's literally impossible. Even the smallest donation makes a difference.

I sincerely hope you did not graduate from Oklahoma State because you are a HORRIBLE representation of graduates.

So over the last couple of days I've been getting calls from this number and every time I answer and the line stays open for maybe 15-30 seconds but I'm not getting any response just complete silence and then they hang up. It's rather annoying answering the phone and having silence come from the other end.

Just got a call from this number ... on my cell phone.  According to comments on this site, it's the OSU Alumni Assoc. trying to get donations.  However, this must be a 3rd party soliciting for them.  Why do I think that?  One, OSU phone numbers are prefixed 744, not 385.  Second, 385 is generally a cell phone prefix for Stillwater.  Third, there is no way they could be calling my cell phone number as I don't give it out to anyone except to family.  So, this had to be a robot-dialed call ... thus from a 3rd party soliciting for OSU.  That also explains why some folks here get a "blank" line for several seconds ... takes time for the robot to notify someone that they have a "live" line and for that person to bring it up.

I would tell them to take me off of their list, but I will not validate to them that this is my number.

Oh, by the way: I am NOT an alum and would never give them a dime!

This number calls and doesn't say anything when I answer, then hangs up. I calles back and someone picks up rhen hangs up twice.

To call a person a Liar is very low, especially when it is likely you who are in error.
Perhaps one day you too will leave the bubble of academia where "we can do no wrong", and have a phone that often rings nonstop from assorted parasitic entities (ranging from 11 girls in 1 day alone, all named "Angel", calling to sell some useless thing from OSU); or interrupt on a day I put aside to read; SUGGESTION; If ANY organization refuses to REMOVE ones name who asks, that person should then REFUSE to donate.  I donate as I choose to (or not), so every unwanted call I receive now means no donation. In the world outside that "Nurturing Mother" bubble,
I regard intrusion as something worthy only of condemnation; and yet I was IN academia for over 30 years!  It is NOT a license to call up and beg. Rethink how to redirect the enormous WASTE of funds, and you will have less need for a constant phoneline-tin-cup. Like many people here, we are tired of Parasites Calling. It is a problem out of control, from the Indian subcontinent pretending to "help" w/ computers, to every imaginable scam. Start SAVING more of what people send, and kick in more to the kitty yourself, Rachel; it is annoying and now to the point of being counterproductive to harass people with your hand held out.
