Typical Scam. Press 9 if you want to lower interest rates on your credit card. I did and talked to a gentleman who was surprisingly polite. Said they do not have a do not call list and refused to give any information on the marketing company.

Recorded call made to sound as if it was one of my credit card companies alerting me to the chance to lower my interest rate. After pressing 9 I was connected to a lady who stated that their company represented all Visa and Mastercard companies. When I asked her to clarify that her company was not one that I currently did business with and asked more questions in regard to her company and the "do not call" list I was hung up on.

Attempts to call back the number led to a constant busy signal. I will be filing a report of this call with the FCC and encourage others to do the same as this seems to represent an obviously false and misleading enterprise.

Call came in about lowering my credit card rate, I waited thru the robo-message, then pressed 9, told the guy that answered I wanted my number removed from their call list. He said, "Remove me, yea, yea . . . ." and hung up.  Call came in 5 minutes later, same thing, didn't wait thru the message but hit 9 right away, and I was told that there was fraudulent activity on my cards. I argued, and the guy put me through to his "supervisor." Call went downhill from there - he told me he was sending "the Feds" to my house in 30 mins. When I asked what branch/deparment of the US Gov't, he said Department of Defense. He got really rude when I started laughing at him, and I hung up. Never once would these people give info about who they wanted, or what they knew about me apart from my city.  Please report calls like these whenever and wherever you can!

I talked with a gentlemen named Caleb Thursday Night.  He said he worked for One Source Mgmt and was part of their Consumer Financial Board.  Because of our "good credit score", we're eligible for lower interest rates on our credit cards.  Then he asked for a credit card number and expiration date.  I had to run out the door but set up a time to talk with him.  he provided a call back number (888) 512-8877 x210.  He actually asked for our number too, like he had no clue what number he just dialed.

When I called the 888 number he provided this morning, I discovered the office appears to be located in Arizona.  When I searched on the number called via reverse look up on whitepages.com, they show the listing in Orlando, FL.  'Caleb' was very vauge through the call, really couldn't explain who he was, how he got our info or how he was going to lower interest rates.  The whole call seemed a bit fishy.

Received same type of call, however, after telling the gentleman, Derek Johnson that I have low balances on my credit cards, he said to hold on a moment.  The line then went dead.  When I called the number back, it was answered as Colorado Information Systems and if I knew my party's extention, I could dial it then.  If not, I could look up my party by name, but of course, Mr. Johnson does not exist.

    The incoming message said
"there are no problems with your credit card account
at this time, then offered to reduce
rate to 6.9% - press 9 to talk to somebody about.
It sounded very phishy, so hung up without further
    ado. Probably a big scam.

This phone number calls my house constantly! I have pressed the button to remove me off their list and actually pressed 9 twice to speak to them personally about taking me off their list.  One lady said she had no such list and that it would take two weeks to remove me from their "auto list".  The second time I got a male operator who hung up on me!

    Rob Moore
Got a call from these [***] on Dec. 10, 2008 and the jerk sounded like he had just graduated from the 2nd grade, very robotic and reading from a script obviously, as if it was a miracle that putz could read anyway. He asked my name and I gave him a fake one, Robert Moore. The dumbass says, "wow, I see here that all your credit cards and bank accounts are in excellent standing Mr. Moore and you are eligible for a MUCH lower interest rate , ANNNND, a MUCH higher credit limit." I asked him how many of my cards he was looking at and he asked me how many I had and I said I don't remember and he said well take a guess. At this point I am trying not to pee from laughing so hard on the inside but maintaining some consistency so I could get some info out of him. So he changes the subject and and asked how much debt I have and I promptly told him "none" so he hangs up on me. I knew it was a scam from the start but wanted to see how deep this thing went. First, Robert is not even my real name, second, I don't even own a damn credit card as I pay cash for everything, and third, he tried to get me to give him one of my "credit card" numbers, and if I didn't have one, to give him my bank account number instead. So I said "well if you have all my accounts right there in front of you, then you should know my account number right?" After reading all of your above postings here I agree that these people are PIGS. Another group of [***] came up with yet another way to rip people off by preying on their desire to get out of debt. YOU PEOPLE ARE HEARTLESS SCAMMING MOFO'S! Scum like you go down hard and fast and it won't be long before we hear about a bust in Arizona where some PIGS like you got arrested for fraud. Happy f**king holidays to to you too you [***]....

Here is what I was able to dig up on these lying cowards...

Call them back and DEMAND some answers! I plan to tell them I am lawyer about to sue the [***] out of them for harassment, fraud, ignoring the do not call list, and whatever else I can think of. I have always wanted to own a little telemarketing company, and run it the RIGHT WAY, so this just might be my chance now that I have an address. If they know this, it might get them running for the hills, but running from doing the right thing is what we expect from [***] like them.

Yep!  Tis the season to be phishing!  They're trying here too!  You got it, it's a scam.  When you press 9 you do get to talk to a real person alright, but they're cold calling or what in Cyber parlance is called "PHISHING."  My wife got a call this morning.  I took one yesterday evening from that came from area code "062" of all things.  They're spoofing the caller ID so you can't really tell where they're calling from.  They use an assortment of names like "Co Info Sys" and just plain "unknown name, unknown number."  When we talked to the live person, they said that they are authorized to work with visa and master card.  They didn't say which bank though, and that's your first clue to the scam.  We confronted them with the fact that we don't have either card, and that they must be cold calling.  That's when they hung up -- real fast -- end of conversation.  DON'T FALL FOR IT.  Either don't answer it or, if you want to have a little fun, turn the table on them as we did.

Same call in Massachusetts today. I was suspicious at first but have been getting a lot of offers for re-fis and lower rate credit cards so I stayed on the call briefly. When the caller told me that he needed my credit card number to "verify" my account's eligibility I started asking questions that he couldn't answer (and obviously didn't give out my card number).

I wonder how many people have given out all the information needed for identity theft?
