Why am I getting a call from this apparently suspicious number?

This is the same scam call I have been receiving for weeks from Credit Card Services from various numbers across the country.  They are scammers offering phoney credit card debt relief.  It is a recorded message, but I opted to talk to one of their representatives and asked to be put on their Do Not Call list and reminded him that my number is on the Federal Do Not Call Registry.  He continued to make a sales pitch until I hung up.   If you are on the Do Not Call Registry file a complaint EVERY TIME you get a call from these scammers.  They keep switching numbers so you need to file a complaint EVERY TIME.  The FTC finally stopped a similar scam from a phoney auto warranty company that had been calling my number as often as three times a day for months.

I constantly get calls from 407 936 9999 and have constantly requested to be removed from their list. They still call and call.

I have had calls from these numbers multiple times per day.  I tried speaking to one of the customer service reps to get them to stop and he laughed and hung up on me.  Very frustrating.  I'm going to follow your advice and will file complaints from each and every number that is calling me.  This is definitely harassment!

I get all these calls and yet no one leaves messages.  Usually rings three times before they hang up.  I wouldn't answer them anyways.

Answered the call, they identified themselves as "Card Services".  They hung up on me when I told them I wanted them to take me off the list once and for all.  Called back and it says that they are "City of Deltona Inspections and Permits".

The person says they're from Card Holder Services and want me to give them my information so they can lower my interest rates.

Just got a call on my cell. No message.

Got a call into the city of deltona mayors office.
Maybe they can shut these dirtbags down.

We've been receiving calls from two different numbers listed to Deltona Permit Department 4079369999 and 407 4809999 for weeks now. I called into the city of deltona permits dept and spoke to a live human being, she said that the IT dept and the Florida state attorney general are working on the problem as the numbers have been spoofed and someone out of the country are using their numbers as the caller id display when they make these calls. So if you get a call do not give out any info

The calls are continual.  Usually I just hang up.  I have tried using their stop call number (3), but it doesn't work of course.
I spoke with one person who said "f--k you bi--h".  
This has been going for months.  There must be something that can be done about it.

just talked to the live operator, explaining now after 4th call, I have no credit card and to stop calling, they had the nerve to say for 29.00 I could get on a do not call list, or I could change my phone #.she said my tone was hostile and if I kept  it up they would call every day.

The company is called "Card Services" according to their representative.  I asked twice because I wanted to be sure I heard them right.

They called on 9-10-2011 @ 9:16am this time, but have called and left a canned message on our answering machine at least 20 times.  When I attempted to tell them "We're on the Federal and State do-not-call lists so stop calling - I am reporting all of the calls you've made" they had already hung up on me.

Received call, did not answer. No message left. I have learned not to answer any calls I do not recognize. When I do answer they will immediatley hang up or try to sell me financial services or car warrantys. Frankly I think part of the scam is to be paid by the telephone carrier for "Minutes" on call as well as to find someone foolish enough to fall for their scam.

Had an initially automated call with message that my "credit card" interest rate would be lowered if I pressed "one" and to do that immediately.  Did not identify company, credit card, etc.  I pressed one - got a "hello" from "Pete" and then a hang up.  Calling back got me the City of ???? Department of ????.  (see prior post - Deltona Permit Department 4079369999)

My sense is that this is a scam system that they can't operate successfully to victimize people who answer the phone.  NO information on company, credit card, etc. ......

Calls repeatedly saying they are the inspection  & permits center for Deltona. I can't get  through to a person to ask that they not call again.
