got several calls lately to my cell phone.  When I answer no one is on the line.  After a few seconds it hangs up.

These a'holes are using at least several probably more spoofed #(s) for the 408/707 area code and claim to be calling from Los Angeles, claiming in fasttalk to be "National Renewable Energy Center." They are trying to sell BS "energy services" and targeting Hispanics. They have been calling 2-3 times a day from 8 a to 8pm. When you call their spoofed number, a recorded message says "this number no longer in service." When I mentioned this to the basura czlling, he said that was because they were calling from a call center in LA. I then said, you have to be kidding. DO NOT ALLOW them to continue to harass you. Complain to the FTC about unwanted calls (FTC.gov)online or on paper.

As already reported, this is a company with BLATANT disregard for the National Do Not Call List, and throws all requests to be removed from their call list in the toilet, then call again, 2-3 times per day, 7 days a week.
They are the "National Renewable Energy Center" with conspicuously scant website at the ever so clever "www.nationalrenewableenergycenter.com" (playing off the REAL National Renewable Energy Laboratory, in Golden, CO., www.nrel.gov. This is a Federally funded, actual, national laboratory) The website has no names, no location, no contacts. Just a single phone number.
They describe themselves as a referall company like "1-800-Dentists". I'd say these dirtbags ARE like 1-800-Dentists, with all the pain and none of the gain.

This Company has been calling me too !, Just want to thank M.C. San Mateo for your timely efforts in researching this Company., I've reported them to the FCC, Hopefully something can be done, Its irritating to have calls twice even though I have Phone block on my Panasonic cordless (rings once).        
Guess if enough people complain maybe they'll be able to put this people out of business or shut them down.  
They should enforce prison terms for repeated offenders..  

i get so many calls that i have added to my contacts and called it DO NOT ANSWER.  this way if i forget to look at the phone number, i'm telling myself it's scum and not to answer.
