Got it. Debt collector suspect. Normally do not answer calls from Private callers. If they cannot leave a message then they must be up to no good in my view. In this case the number was an unusual format for Australia. A debt collector, Baycorp is most likely the culprit. In their attempts to get at me, they have used various ruses, including "Overseas" numbers, but always hang up when the answering machine kicks in.

In this case, it was an unfamiliar number showing on the caller ID. It was a mistake to pick up. The sounds of a large, busy office arose, but no other response, so I hung up. Soon after two "Private" calls arrived in quick succession, without leaving a message. They never give up. It is obvious to me that Baycorp enlists foreign help in being persistent. Another number to block.

Got a call on my cell phone 9:00am Monday morning from this number saying it was from "San Jose, CA" did not pick up as 1. I was at work and 2. did not reconize the number. I waited to see if a vm would be left and none was. I looked it up on a reverse phone website and was told it was a landline residence number in Sunnyvale CA and is tagged as a "Telemarker Call with a high Spam count" I called the number back from my work phone (*67 first)so it would be a "blocked" call and it just rang over 20 times till i finally hung up. No recorder went on nor did a human pick up. annoying how these people are now using regular numbers rather than the 800 or 888 ones used before. I hope these calls get banned sometime soon!!!!
