Got a call, but they left no message--this is the second or third call from this number

10-21-10  I was called at 9:00 PM when I already had retired for the evening.

This number calls one or two dimes a day for the last few weeks. caller ID says SBC Messaging.
Apologizes and hangs up.

Every few months, spurts of calls (sometimes twice a day) come in from this number.  My caller ID identifies the caller as "SBC MESSAGING."  No message is ever left.  Who is it?  I'm tired of it.  How do I find out who it is, other than SBC MESSAGING?

Want to report a fake, spam call from this number. calling me at least 2~3 times a week arround 6~9 pm during the past month! asking for firemen donations????? Who are these guys????
is this a spam ,who calls me from this number?????? I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST. Do Not Call Me.
firefighters association want money???? but with the way they harass you with constantly calling at dinner time....We are on do not call list so that doesn't bother these guys????? Any ideas on how to get the real name/address of who is behind this?   it's a vague message about an "offer" in the "community" Absolute waste of time. DO NOT CALL ME EVER AGAIN!!!

For months we have been receiving numerous calls from this number.  The message left is "Due to technical difficulties, we could not complete this call".  If we answered this call, a male voice said hello and then ended the call. Calls come from this number at various times through out the day and evening up to 9:30 p.m.

Here we go again with that mysterious raft of calls from "SBC MESSAGING (408) 865-9464," as shown on my caller I.D.  Now, sometimes a recorder states, "We're sorry that no one can take my call at this time," AS IF I MADE THE CALL!!
I'm beginning to suspect that some robbery outfit is routinely checking to see if someone's home here.
SHOULD I NOTIFY THE POLICE?

When I answer I hear a recording something like "due to technical difficulties we are unable to talk to you..."

Two calls in the last 2 days.

had a call from this number tonight. It was someone claiming they are from the Santa Clara police department fund raising committee. They told me the police are having their annual fund raiser and they would like to send me out an envelope so I could send them back a check to show my support..........I have no idea whether this is a con or not, but I told them I would not be sending them anything so please do not send me the envelope. The guy hung up.

If you are a Comcast subscriber you can block the call by dialing #60 and following the instructions.

You can also block numbers with AT&T residential by pushing #60 and then following the prompts.

whoops - meant *60 to call block. make sure to also turn the service on.

Got a hangup from 408 865-9464.   No message, no nothing.
