Comptroller of MD calling based on a help request I put in on their tax filing website.

Caller called responding to a Rental Add when I started asking history questions the phone went dead. Caller ID said 410-260-7000 when I called back line was not in services??

Just got a call on my cellphone from this number.  He said with a thick accent, that I had called about my Maryland Taxes.  I said I did not, he kept saying the call came from my number.  I think he was trying to keep me on the line, as if tracing the call.

the same thing just happened to me today! I did not call about my taxes. The man had a heavy accen, and did insist that the call was from my number. Very fishy!

Definitely from the Maryland State Treasurer's Office, and not a scammer. I work for a vendor of this agency, and this is the number that comes up when they call.

Call from MD state government office, a relative works there and when they call out this number is their default number that always shows up, not the callers desk phone number.

I am a Maryland state employee.  (410) 260-7000 is the number for the EEO/Fair Practices Office in the Maryland Department of Budget and Management.  Scammers are spoofing this number and pretending to be calling from a State office to offer help and get information from you about your taxes.  DO NOT give them any personal information.  It is a scam.  DBM has nothing to do with you state taxes.  The Comptroller's office handles state income tax issues and they do not call people out of the blue regarding their taxes.  All official communications would be by nail.

I did call concerning the taxes I owe and a woman with a deep accent said thank you for staying on the line and we will give you a call back from one of our agents. I said Ok. Thank you And I told my wife who is it Maryland Conptroller and can I speak to me and I told my wife am not here. I called back n the line was out of service.

Got a missed call from this number 4102607000. When i called back it is not connecting

I got 2 miss call from this number and the 3rd time I pick up the lady said it's à call from MD contrôler office that they need to send me information and she need my fax number or email. Since I do not have fax I gave her my email. What do I do now

I got a call twice on 01/02/2019 at 4:54PM .. Don’t know why they are calling... I Called  the phone number back a few times but , I just get a busy signal eveytime... Not familiar with this number... I know the State of MD numbers starts with (410) 260-

3 calls at 5:30 thru 6:30 am on 6/5/2019. No messages and calling back gets a fast busy disconnect.

Got a call from a woman at my job claiming to be with the State of MD Comptroller Office.  She stated in order for my bankruptcy to be discharged, she needed to ask me a few questions.  I knew it was a fraudulent call because any government agency (federal or state) always communicate by mail never by phone.  Furthermore, my bankruptcy was discharged from the court and a copy was mailed  to my residence
