If you have debt with Amazon.com (in my experience) it's a third party debt collection agency. They were pretty nice to me, address you by sir/ma'm, and work with you to get things taken care of. I told them i had a baby on the way and was strugling a bit with finances. They walked me through a few things real quick and put me on a $14 payment plan for 6 months so i can catch up, then do regular payments with the late fees waved.

Then again, this is all in my experience, so it may vary.

Justin, or whatever your real name is, stop pretending you don't work for a beggar/bounty hunter agency.  You are NOT doing the Lord's work, "helping people turn their life around."  Most debtors do not have a drug problem or a prison record.

You are so right. I AM trying to do the Lord's work. Just graduated from seminary in fact. But, due to the economy I have been out of work for eighteen months now and the bill collectors are calling day and night, even during church. They, clearly, are NOT doing God's work or even pretending to be or they wouldn't be calling at that time.

[***] from NCO calling on Memorial Day holiday!!! Started getting calls about a week ago - from ALL of these #'s, all of a sudden. Callers not identified and they NEVER leave a message. I will be sending a C&D letter to their HQ. Since I am recently unemployed, I have TIME to monitor these calls and will file suit against them myself. IF they'd been doing this to my work number, that would have been cause for firing. Feel sorry for anyone they are harassing at work.
