The phone rang ten times and did not go to voice mail.  It is supposed to go to voice mail after six rings.  I called the number back, and it was Verizon Sales.

This is Verizon rewards program. I asked them to stop calling me and to forget my name and number but they still keep calling.

this is a scam call. Verizon doesn't have such a website as above Port anything should immediately raise your antenna. This is Not Verison. This is a scam to get either your money and your info. Don't answer these calls. Anyone can spoof anynumber and anyone can have anythng they like come up on your caller ID. They can even disguise their voices. People need to learn about the technology out there today and DO NOT answer these calls.

Verizon noticed that I had received a couple of text messages, so they tried to offer me an unlimited text plan.

It was Verizon rewards, but in my case it was legit. I am receiving a gift card for recently signing up for services.

Like one of the other people posting, it is Verizon Rewards program. I am awaiting a Visa gift card b/c I signed up for certain services. The Caller ID says Verizon on it. I answered the call b/c I am a Verizon customer. I always wait a few seconds and if no one responds (person or recorded message), I hang up. Why a big company would waste money calling people and not talking, I have no idea. It's stupid. 410 area code is Baltimore MD area.

Call the NY state attorney general at 1-800-771-7744 and the FTC at 1-877-382-4357.  Verizon is headquartered in NY, and neither office will do anything without a volume of complaints - let 'em have it!

This is a Verizon's Rewards status phone call.  Anyone shouting scam has no clue.

This is legit - I recently signed up for service with Verizon and they are sending a Visa card reward - it is updating you on the status of your  reward (it will call the phone # listed under Verizon account) - not a scam.

As people said previously, it's about a reward for signing up for service.  It's a stupid call considering they also send an email and obviously you'll just get the reward in the mail, but no one ever said Verizon was intelligent.
