IT'S A TOTAL SCAM & THE DUDE IS A JERK! Heavy Middle Eastern accent & very broken English. I just received my second phone call from him: "Hi this is Officer Mike Williams from the law & investigation department. I hope you remember me. This call is to notify you that it is almost too late for you because I am transferring your file to the legal court house for action against your name.  You will be put behind the jail. I give you last chance to resolve this matter. Call my number 410-988-7408. If you fail to give me call then you will lose your job, lose your kid, & lose each everything in your life. So give me call & put yourself in a safer side."

This guy had a lot of my information and worried me... He claims I took out a loan and I didn't and wanted me to pay it back right now. Avoid this guy don't give him any info. He even sent me a fake invoice with no date thou lol who gets an invoice with no date... I told him I would send him copies of my bank statement showing I never received the loan and he said no you have to pay this back right now.I asked for a supervisor and he hung up.

This guy is a total scam and he even calls my wife at work. I have told him to leave my wife alone or I will call the police! Dont fall for this scam!!!!! He even told my wife that he is an officer.

I got a call from the same number same guy middle eastern thick accent he told me he has people on his way to my house now to screw me. Nice huh. I tried to get as much information from him as i could i asked for his mailing address so i could mail him a payment but know such luck he told me to get a prepaid card and call him in the morning. Must think i am pretty stupid to fall for that. It shook me up especially the threats not a very nice guy. This was today. I am going to keep contacting him to get more information so I can send it to the authorities maybe then something will be done about this guy.

I have been receiving calls from this same number for about three weeks now. Mostly he has hung up on me until today. Today he claimed to be a lawyer and said something about a FICO score. When I told him that I didn't believe him and to stop calling he threatened me with very strong language and was extremely sexually explicit about what he planned on doing to me. It shook me up because he had my name and address. Don't trust this guy. Report him. He had a very strong middle eastern/indian accent. Really creepy guy. Lots of noise in the background.

Got a call from this number.. man identifying himself as a legal agent with heavy east-European accent.
He told me that my cell number is used for illegal activities.. !! and he's authority to put me in a jail
and if I don't resolve this out of court I'll be in jail for 5 years !!
Very threatening and rude I think thats how he ears he's business.

I got the same call from 410-988-7408...stating he is officer Mike Williams and could not speak very good english.  Gave me some address that he stated was my address as well as an email address that he said was mine but both were incorrect and I told him that and said yes they are.  And something about how I'm trying to avoid paying and he will send me all the document about some payday loan I took out.  All which are untrue, I have never taken out a payday loan.  This guy is definatley a scam and when you try to call the number back it goes to a voicemail.

I just got several calls from this number 4109887408, claiming to be part of a law firm, he had a heavy Indian accent and they are definitely not legit. He said i applied for a loan but didn't pay the application fees. SO i asked for he name and he told me hold, then 2 mins later he cam back and told me his name was Shaun Mars and that i can call him back to discuss on this number 714-983-8179. When i called him back he told me again that they have a law suit against me and that i owe them money $35.00 and that i applied for the loan back in December 2010. I told him i never got a loan and never applied for one, if you have documentation then i need you to send it to me, he said i can only email it to you, i told him NO if you say you have legal documentation that claims i owe your client $35.00 then by lawyer you have to serve me those papers, he said for $35.00 i am not going to mail it to you i can only email, i told him that is a load of rubbish and said i am not giving you a penny unless you mail the documents to me, he started to curse me out in Indian, and i hung up the phone.

When he called back i let him have it and told him you are a fool you don't realized that i am Indian too and what are you running there a business or a scam house, and he said this is my business i told him go to hell and you won't get a penny from me.

i hung up the phone while he was curse me out in Indian and mentioned he would keep calling me back. So far 6 calls from this fool no message left. DON'T trust these fool and don't give them any information, report to the local police, your bank and credit card companies. Also call your cell phone provider and report the number, not much they can do but at least you are taking the right steps.

Called and told me that I owed over $300 for a payday loan that I never took out.
This guy called the wrong person! I went off on him when he called me a liar and threatened me with a lawsuit.  He refused to transfer me, refused to confirm my information, refused to give me service of process, and told me that my statements would be used against me in court.  DO NOT SEND THEM MONEY!  This is a scam designed to intimidate people into paying.  If they bother you, hold your ground and tell them what you think of their scam.  I threatened them with a fraud action and they hung up.  I called back and they hung up.  I think if you really give it to them they will go away.

I had a missed call from this number.  

Everyone I know from the Maryland/Virginia area (410 area code) is programmed in my phone.

Still curious...I decided to Google the number before returning the call.

This # calls me atleast 2-3 times a day, and hang up when i answer.   Each time I call back they have this ragedy voicemail that comes on.  Im so glad I googled this number so i wont waste my time answering.

I got a call at work from 410-988-7408 a couple of days ago. The guy asked for me and when I told him it was me on the phone he said "Oh thank God!" I knew instantly he was not legit. He went on to say they've been trying to contact me about a possible law suit and would I hold on for their legal office. I asked where he was calling from and he continued asking me to hold on. He proceeded to transfer me at which point I hung up. As all previous posters have said, he had a thick accent, possibly Indian? The called back and left a message asking me to call 775-410-1916. I did not call and they have not called again. I called the 410-988-7408 number and got a recording that I think sait it was the American Legal Purchasing Division. I also Googled that number and it comes up as Hector and Associates. If they call again I will tell them I reported the number to the FBI and local authorities. To hell with them! Scammers!!

This guy was a total Jerk.  I could not understand him and he was agressive and persistant.  I hope this guy gets cought, and gets sent to jail.

That's a scam....I doubt that there are located in the US even if the phone # is from MD.
It's sounds like an internet phone line, a lot of statics and the guy's accent isn't middle eastern like someone mentioned but more Indonesian or from the Philippines.

My boyfriend has been receiving these same calls for over two and a half weeks now. I have looked over your comments and they are very similar in nature. Who should we call about reporting this person?

I just received from this number too, just today, Aug.30, 2011. Was funny that the address he told me where I lived was an address I had already left 6 years ago. He mentioned that I owe his client $300 and I will only be spared from any legal suit if I confirm my payment to them thru email. Whattta scam!!! LOL!!! I wish his ear bleed like crazy each time he attempts to pull out his stunt to his next victims. Be careful everyone, don't give in to this fool!

Received a call from them today...said I owed $288 on a payday loan. What a scam!

I just a got a call from that number for the first time.  He did not leave a message.  I will warn my family members not to pick up if they see the number on caller ID.

This idiot keeps calling my company cell, can not speak nor understand English.   These people need to be jailed for harassing communications, a felony.  Law enforcement do your job and arrest this bunch of criminals.
