I got a one ring call on my cell phone 412-205-8835.After some looking around it seems this is a SCAM wanting you to call back to see who it was and if you do they  put all kinds of service charges against your number.

Got the same ring.  Just enough to activate the caller ID.  I tried to answer but they were already gone.  I NEVER return calls for anyone I don't know unless they have the same area code and local prefix.  Lot of good the "Do Not Call" list does!

This number called me twice within a few hours,each time only ringing once.

I called back and got a recorded message saying "Hi! We called you because you recently visited one of our affiliate websites, and we would like to reward you with a $100 gift card redeemable at popular locations like Walmart [and some others]. Press 1 to redeem your gift card. Press 2 if you would like to be placed on our Do Not Call list."

I pressed 2 and it said "Thank you for your call." Then the call ended.

I haven't entered my phone number into any fishy sites at all, so I don't know where they got it.

I got the same one ring call two different times today as well. 1st time at 12:21 PM CST and 2nd was at 2:55 PM CST. Pretty frustrating that they do this crap. I'd like to know where they are getting our phone numbers from. I don't give out my cell number hardly ever.

I don't know what to do, I'm 16 so I'm a little naive and I've signed up for survey online stuff that pay you for surveys so I thought they were calling me from that. Anyway I gave them my card number and everything (a gift card with $4 on it) and now I have no idea what to do. They said they'd send me something in the mail but now I know it's a scam I feel like they'll just bill me. And I don't know how to handle this, can someone help me?

If you're worried about charges call your credit card company and have them block any charges from these scammers.  Can you block the number? Try that next. Your phone company can help you with that.  If the credit card is in your name and you are in either USA or Canada you are not an adult and not liable.  (The bank that issued a credit card to a 16 year old is incompetent and negligent!) If the card is in your parents name, tell them before these crooks start putting charges on it.

Got a call from this number 412-205-8835 but did not answer it.

Yes, same one ring then hang up.  

only rang once. i never take calls from numbers i don't recognize. if it is important they will leave a message.

Thanks for the warning as I just got a one ring from these scammers just now!

Just got the call... 1/2 a ring and goes to 'missed calls'. Thanks for the scam alert.

One ...no...two rings then went to missed call.  Just another scam of some kind since I do NOT know anybody in that area code.
