They call me twice a day because I turned their solicitation down - Children's Cancer. I would like to write to whoever they are solictating for & let them know they will never receive a penny of my money because of these [***]!

They are collecting for children's cancer

I received a call from at 12:47pm from 414/326-9237 and Ramona continued to tell me about their company..ACS  (Associated Community Services which is in Michigan) and how they are trying to get contributions for the Childrens Cancer Society. she spoke very fast and when I finally got her to stop talking.. I told her that my husband is on disability and I lost my job and cannot collect unemployment, so we are just trying to keep our heads above water...she said that she knows that the times are hard but just a little amount would help..which in turn I told her that we will not contribute and as I am continuing to tell her to take us off the call list, I realized that she had hung up on me...We are on the do not call list for a reason and I know that these non for profit companies are exempt, but I am tired of this.  I returned the call and you guess it, I got the same speel from the recording and to leave a message with name, phone number and amount that we want to give and they will mail an envelope to me...NOT!  Then I calleded ACS (877/218-8234) directly to complain about the unprofessional people they have working for them and you guessed it...they only have an answering machine also...so I left them a message and told them what I thought, but I am willing to bet the answering machine is also bogus. I will give to the causes that I choose and not be bullied into giving money to someone who is not even in our state or even local.  I am reporting to the FCC, but I understand with all of these types of companies floating around it is difficult to stop them....so we are the ones that have to be continually harrassed by these people...doesn't pay to be nice!

This caller came up as: Enrl Cnt Health. Whats funny is reading the complaints is that I also declined a call from the collect for children's cancer after their explanation into the children's benefits or program DID not seem legit to what I knew about the cancer foundation. I've received this new call repeatedly from the same number. A message left from the machine further complicates their legitimate business as they went from explaining a solicitation for the children with cancer to slipping up and saying something about credit card rates, then hung up. Called stated they were collecting money for children's cancer, wanted a credit card number.

The caller Id identifies it as Milwaukee WI call.  I let it go to vm but there wasn't a message left.

Fund raiser (allegedly). Never donate to companies that randomly call you; donate direct to the company of your choice.

Called my home at 9:00 pm . I didn't answer. These people are not allowed to call after 8pm so 9pm is "pushing it" !!!!!

Supposedly raising money for childrens cancer - a whopping $0.15 cents of every dollar goes to the children (if you can believe them).  What a sleazy business

I have received calls from this number. A lot of calls. I get sometimes three calls a day and no one seems to be there. I am on the do not call list.

Called today.  Acted like they've been trying to call and we're difficult to get a hold of.  Then she started her script and when I started screaming, and swearing at her, she just kept going.  Wish I had a whistle to blow into the phone.

I am currently taking legal action against this agency for their numerous phone calls to me home phone number, daily....don't worry...hopefully this matter will be resolved very soon...hoping to have a law suit against them!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got a call from this number.  They told me they were collecting money for children's cancer.  I told her I didn't think they should be giving cancer to children, so I wouldn't be contributing.  My answer totally threw the woman for a loop and she started to try and explain to me that they didn't give cancer to children, rather that they were trying to fight children's cancer.  I asked her why they didn't care about adults with cancer and again got a long pause before she explained that they DO care about adults with cancer.  I then told her that I wouldn't give to any company that was so confusing and prejudicial.  She hemmed and hawed before saying "Well, have a nice day"  and finally hung up on me.  I figured that I wasted about 3 minutes of her time so I may have kept some other person from receiving an annoying call from her that day.  Mission accomplished.

You just entertain them wiyh this behavior.  A better technique is to engage them and waste as much of their time as possible.  Ask questions, entice them by asking how you could get money to them.  What ever method they mention, say you don't have that but you *sure* want to send them money.  Ask for their mailing address, repeat their address back but with wrong information .  Ask the caller's name and comment on what a nice name they have.  ANYTHING to keep them on the line longer.  The longer you tie up their line the less money they make and the less people they bother.  Make it a game, see how long you can string them along before they hang up on you.
