has called four times today and it is only 1:40 central time. Will not leave a message on machine

when I answered they hung up on me.

this person continues to call.  I even have them on blocked calls and it still comes through.

I get calls from this number every darn day.  They don't leave a message just hang on long enough for my answer machine to pick up.  Caller Id shows it as Milwakee, WI....don't know anyone there leave me alone.....don't have time for this

While I recognized the area code, I did not know this number.  I answered this call; a male voice said, "Hello;" I repeated my greeting. Then, there was the hang-up, as others have mentioned.

After I said hello, there was a long pause, then a woman said 'hello...?' I repeated, then when I got no response, I hung up. Sorry can't offer more than that.

On behalf of the March of Dimes. They called. I answered. I could hear noise in the background and then they disconnected. I called back and got the above information. They do give you the option of going on what I assume is their DNC list because our number is already registered with DNC.

So DAMN tired of the phone ringing and there is no one on the damn phone.  I have this number blocked but it still comes through morning noon and night......

Calls several times a day for MONTHS.

I called the number on caller ID and there was a voice recording that said, "We're sorry we missed you. We're calling on behalf of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. We'll try you again later."

After trying to ignore multiple calls from this number, I finally answered the phone yesterday to find out who was calling (since they never leave a message).  The caller said she was calling for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I told her that I don't donate money over the phone, asked her to put me on their Do Not Call list, & added the number to my list of blocked numbers on my phone.

We need legislation written by the government that will force phone service providers (land-line, cellular, mobile to mobile, in practicality all phone support system providers) to create a service that will enable all callers to be traced to the point of origin and be identified.  If it proves to be a telemarketer and it is unwanted the capability to block is automatic for any future calls, this country is too advanced in all aspects of communications not to be able to control who is calling you and when.  It is noise to one's ears to get these unsolicited calls over and over and phone companies who sell blocks of numbers to telemarketers should be required to reveal who these block purchasers really are.  I think funding should be provided for soliciting a contract with a telecommunications professional organization to study this problem with SCAM and phony advertisers that bombard the communications networks with cheap advertisements.  I think it has been discovered that it is cheaper to procure a block of phone numbers from multiple companies and then either program a computer to do automated dialing or pay someone to sit at home and dial the local phone directory to do advertising rather than placing an ad in printed media or buying precious seconds on TV programs as sponsors. The contract should identify the best methods to control and stop harassment calls period.  These people that are doing these are smart enough to know that they must have a cut-off time in the evening and a not before time in the AM else it would get the attention of legislators and may cause their own demise.
