Received a call from this number, an automated message stating that it was the IRS and not to ignore the call or they would take action.  I called the number back and there was no answer.

Same here, received a call saying it's from IRS.  Called back but no answer.

Whatever you do, Do Not give them any info! Was on the news a while back of IRS scams people saying you owe the IRS. If you do not receive a call from Topeka or certified letters I would Not respond.They will rob you blind and steal your identity.

Really?  A robotic IRS agent message? "call us before we take action against you. good luck."   Ha ha ha ha!!!!  I don't THINK SO. BullSh*T!!!  I'm so tired of these damn scammers calling!

I received a call from this number claiming to be from the IRS and that penalties will be applied.
I called and told the machine I was returning the call and never heard anything back.

called 2x in one day,  there message only gave me a phone number and did not say who it was....called back NO answer.  I assumed it was a scam, just wanted to see if anyone really answered when I called back

Received call from 4152363638 Sat March 7 with same message received by others about calling back re. IRS, caller named Nicki Johnson, female voice. My phone answering machine showed call to be from Marin County, California.

I received the same type of call that others are reporting on Saturday March 7. My caller id said that the call was from Inverness, California.  A reverse search revealed that the phone was Skype VOIP and that the phone company was Teleport Communication Group. One search even gave geographic coordinates.  However,  I was not going to pay to get the name of the owner of the phone.

This person claims to be I.R.S. wanting money.

I RECEIVED CALL FROM THIS # 4152363638 march 13 with same message  about calling back IRS caller name Nicki Johnson from San Francisco North Bay Area
when i call back some buddy with forging accent asking what is my name and he claimed as IRS agency and when I refused to give him my information he  hung up . this IRS scam,

Received a very garbled automated voice message on answering machine,  "...The issue at hand is extremely time sensitive [from] officer Nicky Johnson from the Internal Revenue Service. And the hotline to my division is 4152363638.. I repeat its 4152363638.  Don't disregard this message and do return the call before we take any action against you.  Good bye and take care."   Caller id is out of "Point Reyes, CA"...   Do not give them any info.  IRS would not contact this way.

Just received the same message on March 17 from 4152363638. The message came from San Francisco/North Bay Area.

It was very garbled in a electronic monotone female voice, hard to make out some of the message. Very suspicious...

Received recorded message. Said IRS and not to ignor calling them back @ 415-236-3638 or they would take action.

I also received a message from someone claiming to be the IRS. They left they same return number (415) 236-3638.

Yea me too called back and I got a busy tone.  Yea um no, IRS has enough lines running in that even if they were all being used, I would get an answering machine asking me to " please hold the next available person would be right with you", or something along those lines.  Save your money please do not fall for it.

Just minutes ago I received a phone call from (415) 236-3638 San Francisco/North Bay Area. The machine with a female voice says exactly the same as other comments above. Because I already have had a bad experience with scams, I decided to see this number online and oh! surprise "It is a scam"--I new it but wanted to double check-- thank you to the technology and for all the people who contribute and advice people about scams.

I only blocked this number in my cellphone. I hope they don't bother me me again.

Same as the other calls.  What a scam.  Government agencies only contact you by mail.
