Scam call from a person stating they are from the IRS and you owe money and if you don't call back right away you are in serious trouble.

Don Not Call them back.

A man with a very thick accent threatining that if I do not call back, I will need an attorney. Do not return the call!

THIS MAN REPORTS TO BE AN OFFICER...DO NOT BE FOOLED...CHECK CALLER ID & DO NOT RETURN CALL.

I got a call from these people today purporting to be from the IRS. Since I knew I didn't owe the Feds anything I played along, sounding concerned and upset and on the verge of tears, especially when the guy said I would be arrested by the end of the day unless I paid the amount due within the next two hours.

The fellow had an Indian accent and I asked how the weather was by him and he said it was hot. I then asked is it usual for Bangalore to be that hot this time of year and he said (or let it slip) that he was in Mumbai. So much for area code 415.

P.S. THOSE VOICES YOU HEAR IN THE BACKGROUND APPEAR TO BE TAPED SO IT SEEMS LEGIT. YOU'RE ONLY DEALING WITH A FEW LOW LIFE , NOT SAVY PEOPLE HERE......

Claiming they are IRS

Guy with an Indian accent.  He made a bad decision by calling a tax accountant. I could te it was a scam when he couldn't answer my simple tax questions. Also didn't help that he said he was from San Diego and then switched to San Francisco halfway through, haha.

For me it was an automated voice (female) also stating they are with the IRS and to not ignore the call - to call back before they take action against you.  Total scam.  

I am so upset. Someone left me a message claiming to be from the IRS. They said in a voicemail that I needed to call them back immediately as it was a serious matter. I called them back and they hung up on me three times. I called back and asked if there was an issue, why I wasn't contacted by mail. They hung up on me again!
I knew this was a scam, but wanted to try and catch these people.

get this call 2-5 times a computer voise with all the stupid irs bla bla called and left a nasty msg twice in a row

Gee, it's Saturday morning and I know IRS doesn't call just to chat so I hung up.   In fact I have heard of this Scam or attempted scam.   The caller ID came in as Novato CA.

Pre-recorded message from "Agent Julie Smith" calling about an urgent IRS matter.  Must call back ASAP. This is 4th time I've received this call but the call back number changes. First number was 415-506-2388. Definite scam..

Someone disquisition themselves as the IRS...this person should be prosecuted!

Same as all the above comments, accent, IRS, potential prosecution. Call back, short conversation and him hanging up. Keep calling them back,  now they do not answer. My turn to play :)

Same as above with a message stating do not ignore this call. I called them back from a different phone and a guy answered and said officer something and some investigation division. I could hear other voices in the background, he said hello again and then hung up...

I had the same experience as above...voice mail Julie Smith with I.R.S. and do not ignore this call to call back before we take action against you...prerecorded msg.  then when I returned call (and I knew it was BS..hung up 3 times and then indian accent guy answered say investigative regional services and when I asked him to repeat that he hung up.  Of course I was calling from the SS office so he probably didn't want to talk to me.  These people should be found and prosecuted.  They've called 3 times today once from the
4152518890 number in san fran then 304-403-2504 WV and 231-732-2668.

This number called me and I gave them the last 4 digits of my SSN. .   can  they get any info from the last four digits of my SSN??

I gave them my checking account

I'm receiving the same call. Repeatedly. My husband called the number back and it went to voicemail.

thank you to all for your warning.   Save me a lot of headaches of having to figure out why received an odd call.
It was an automated female voice from IRS threatening......and don't discard this message.
