this person is posing as the IRS.....Internal Revenue Service saying there is letigation and problem with Income Tax.   The person was of oriental backgraound and with a heavy accent.   Didn't give a tax year or details about amount owed.  

Same thing just happened to be. Had me shock for a bit.

Be aware. The IRS doesn't make phone calls, text messages nor email.

They only communicate via letters.

Yes. My Caller ID records show Feb. 21, 2014 from 415-506-2511 (OIUT-OF-AREA). A male with Asian accent claimed himself an IRS representative and said my 2012 tax return had a miscalculation. He asked me to call back 415-506-2511 (same number!) for KEVIN PETERSON.  I of course did not. I called IRS and obtained an 800 number to report the scam, but it was not helpful.

On Feb 21, 2014 caller from 415-506-2511 with Indian accent called my home and asked my wife that he is IRS agent and wanted talk to me, my wife asked for message and he started calling bad words and told her he is going to rape her and he has the address. She get very scared and now we have called the police, don't know if that helps, any idea anyone?

Left message claiming to be from IRS and I should return the call immediately before I contact my lawyer. Obviously not calling back!

Just call the same call an hour ago.  A man with Indian accent left message that he is from IRS and that I had to call back immediately.  Not calling back.

I mean, got the same call.

He called my home number and claimed that he's from the IRS. The caller has an Indian accent. I am sure that this is a scam so don't fall for it.

Just got a call from this number: voicemail from an Indian accented woman saying it was the IRS. Called back and got this guy. When I started asking questions he got belligerent and hung up. Clues: Called me rather than my husband-we file jointly and his name is first. I asked which year he said 2009-2010 (that sounds fiscal, not tax). Very threatening, asked if I had a lawyer, then said my assets will be seized today by the local sheriff. Thanks for posting your comments here; I got nowhere trying to reach the IRS to verify.

Get call twice this morning, one Indian lady left message, ask call back。

I got the same call. This is scam the irs don't anyone they contact you by via mail only. They hung up on me when I asked his id number. Be careful guys.  

Got a call from a man named Steven about two weeks ago, same 415 number for a deficiency in my income tax.  I called back and an INDIAN guy named Mark Stevens picks up and reads me the affidavit telling me I owe $4,999 now, otherwise a sheriff would come to my workplace or home to drag me to court.  He threatened to call the DMV immediately to suspend my drivers license for 5 years and if I lost the court case, I would have to spend a year in jail and pay thousands in fines.  When I asked for him to send me the details/paperwork for review, he refused and became flustered.

Just received similar "IRS" message from the same phone number.  An Indian accent male said my tax returns had problems, legal issues, etc. This guy's accent was so bad that I barely understood what he was saying. He requested that I call back.

Does anybody here knows how we can report this scam to a local police in California? I don't live in CA.

They said they were from the IRS: Susan Brown, asked for my husband. Told me to have him call back this number 416-780-2718 (same as on the caller ID). I sent a note to the IRS, and they confirmed that they would write first.

IRS by phone i  received this call 3 time today how i stop this person i want he pay price doing this?

I just received a message at 6:45 am from an Indian man stating from irs and for me or my regional attorney of record to call him back this second.  4155062511 is the number.

Listened to my voice messages a woman with an heavy Indian accent said she is calling from the IRS. I should call her back at 415-506-2511 immediately it's time sensitive I should not disregard or else legal action will be made. I could hardly understand what she was saying plus there was a constant beep like she was getting a another call. For the hell of it, I called the number back and I got a magic jack recording. IRS knows how to find me if it was extremely urgent, they would have sent something in the mail
