this number has been calling me . If they keep it i could lose my job.

Keep getting calls to my employment place from an Officer Jack Smith leaving messages to call him asap about a legal matter and that a legal complaint has been filed against my social security number and my name which I don't understand.

I received the same call yesterday and today, last week it was a differnet name and number. But same voice. It is a cash advance scam.

called one of my employees said his name is Officer Jack Smith

same call with indian accent (recording type).. name Grace Williams, asking for return due to filed case against my SSN..sounds weird..for sure, not returning any kind of this call.

Called my place of work so when I got home I returned the call.  Couldn't give me all the information(Why?) but kept harping on the fact that if I went to court it would cost me over five grand.  Asked to speak to this "Legal Officer" he kept referring to and he would just spin the conversation to it's beginning.  Spoke to an "Attorney" and he said he'd call me back in ten minutes.  Still waiting for the return call..

This is a scam call.  They try to get you to verify you SS# or bank account # and then take money out of it when they do.   NEVER verify any information, even if what they tell you they have is true, say NO.  

You can't be charged criminally for a civil debt (unless you purposely write a bad check).  

Most states have statutes of limitations on civil debt and usually what they are talking about is beyond that SOL.

If they say they are coming to arrest you, tell them you will surrender at your lawyers offce, and give them the name....you won't hear from them again.
