Missed their call and got a message.  Only half the message came through - said their name was Richard Parkman, or something, and they were calling from the IRS.  Middle Eastern accent.  They said to call back immediately.  Later in the day, I called it and, another gentleman with a middle eastern accent answered.  I could tell he was in a room full of telemarketers. He asked for my information so he could check my file and, I told him I'd call back later.   Or not.  Seems like a scam to me.

Received the same call as above.  Recording that said my property was under Federal investigation by the IRS  and he also had an accent and ended the ridiculous recording wishing me to have a nice day.  Definitely a scam.  Beware!

Same message on my phone after call from this number.  My physical address is under federal investigation.  Federal for him must be Pakistan.

sâme information...the called was David Hamilton from the IRS, he even gave me a local number to verify that he was from the IRS. IT IS A SCAM!

Same message multiple times now, sometimes it will say so and so attempts made.

The number called me today asking for my husband by his first and last name. I said he wasn't here and was asked when he would be in. I asked who was calling. He claimed he was with the IRS and this was an audit and a Federal Investigation. I said, I never knew of the audit to be from California. Instead of answering he demanded my husbands cell phone number. Then he actually asked me if I was the wife named... and he named me.  By this time I was typing in the number into the internet and came up with a few sites claiming it was a fraudulent call. I asked him for his information so that we could call him back. But that i was worried because on the internet it claimed this number was a fraudulent number. He became agitated when I said I was going to call the IRS and make sure the call was legitimate. He then calmed down and proceeded to try to give me a local number to call to verify. I told him I didn't want any phone more phone numbers from him, but would take the phone number off of the IRS Web site instead. That is when he got extremely angry and told me there'd be a warrant out for my husband then. I stated I had never heard of a Federal IRS agent act like this. This is when he hung up on me. I put in an email to the IRS and noticed they have a large section on Scams. Here is what their site says. "There are clear warning signs about these scams, which continue at high levels throughout the nation,” said IRS Commissioner John Koskinen. “Taxpayers should remember their first contact with the IRS will not be a call from out of the blue, but through official correspondence sent through the mail. A big red flag for these scams are angry, threatening calls from people who say they are from the IRS and urging immediate payment. This is not how we operate. People should hang up immediately and contact TIGTA or the IRS.”

The IRS will not demand payment over the phone and immediately. Nor will they call you out of the blue. They first send you several letters asking you to contact them! Read more from IRS site

I've dealt with the IRS and they definitely don't act in this way! SCAM all the way around!

My call was from Alex Marshall Badge # 1098.  He said I was on a recorded line and he was from the IRS audit Dept.  He sounded from mid east and was not very clear spoken.  I asked him to spell some words because I could not understand him.  I told me I was in violation of a federal act and I was going to be arrested and all my bank accounts frozen and property Lien. He knew my address and spelling of name.  He told me I owed $1386.00 and IRS was taken action in court because I have not responded to their letters.   He sounded good but you could hear people in the back ground like tel-marketer.  I called my accountant and he Googled the phone number and say it was a scam.   Don't Worry.  Don't give out any personal information if this happens to you.

Got a voice mail this morning, but they did not mention who, what, where.....It must be something very serious, right?  My poor house (physical address) is probably shaking about now, being under investigation and all.

“Your physical address is under Federal investigation. So you need to reach us back as soon as possible. Our department     call back number is 415-735-7988. I repeat it's 415-735-7988. Thank you and have a good day.”

I then called back....  After a glass of water, and clearing my throat, as I wanted to scream as loud as possible in the eardrum...this was very important to me.   This is the message I got word for word - those Officers must be pretty darn BEEsy as he says

"THANK YOU FOR CALLING TAX AUDIT DEPT OF INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICES ALL OF OUR OFFICERS ARE BEESY AT THE MOMENT SO LEAVE A MESSAGE AFTER THE BEEP"  

Indeed I did leave a message....the 1st time, a few choice words; the 2nd was screaming as loud as possible.  Won't help, but I sure felt great afterward.  I keep saying I'm getting a whistle, but forget.
