This is a number that called me today that is part of the IRS scam. This time o just got mad and started calling them over and over again. Other than it being gratifying to harass the harasser it forced them to call me from these numbers 870-612-4414 and 870-413-4474. When I answered the 870 numbers I told them thanks for giving me other numbers to report. Please don't take this sitting down report them and tell the IRS about it. If you have a few minutes do like I did and fight back. It may not be much but it will at least take one con artist off the phone for a while and I bet if enough of us do it it will truly disable their ability to con others. Remember the IRS will never call out of the blue, they will always send letters first. Don't fall victim to these people, fight back anyway you can.

Received a call today from this number 4157427561. Told me that I will be arrested around 7-8 PM if I don't pay certain amount. This made me so angry since I never had anything like this before. Reported it to TIGTA.

Had 2 threatening calls this afternoon from 415-742-7561, claiming to be IRS Officer Julie Smith, telling us to call back before they take action. This has never happened and we are very angry. We will report this number.

They said legal action against me. And I looked it up right by away. -.- fake number thanks for the help guys.

I received the fake message today 1/3/15 from # 415-742-7561 agent Julie Smith. The name even sounds fake. I figured it was fake. The IRS doesn't do business like that.  I told the guy he was the son of a motherless goat and he hanged up on me. ( Idiots).

this number call me they wanted 2000 dollar in ten min if no i was get arrested  

Claimed to be IRS saying to get a lawyer because I was going to be arrested for tax fraud.
Told me letters were mailed in Sept and I never responded to them. [***]!
Also reported them to TIGTA.

They called me this morning but it was a message it said that we were going to track and get money from you! We were very thankful we looked up this page and saw all of the comments on it. I wonder how many people got scammed!

Got message from Julie Smith IRS officer at this number; told me to "return call before we take action against you"; then she said "good bye and take care." which made me laugh....how phone is that!  Obviously the IRS doesn't work this way so it's just someone trying to dupe others who don't know any better.    

Yesterday (Sat) I got a message on my voice mail from this number-4157427561. The message claims it comes from the IRS . This is a scam. NO IRS ever contacting people without the actual mail first and IRS has an 800 number. I have been contacted by the IRS in the past. So I know that this is definitely a SCAM. So if you or anyone get calls from IRS without the official letter, It is a SCAM and ignore it.

How do you report these calls - receive two calls at day from 415.685.8709, Officer Julie Smith - threatening message saying it is an urgent matter and i need to call before they take immediate action. Heavy accents when I call back - Officer Julie not in yet.

I just received the same fake call from Officer Julie Smith of the "IRS".  I will report this too.

You report it on the IRS Inspector Generals website. Just do an internet search for it. I want to see these guys go down I am just mad that they have the audacity to claim to be the IRS. I harassed these thieves so much the other day that they blocked my number. I found that amusing.

I also received a voice-mail from a Julie Smith of the "IRS" and when I called back the number 415-742-7561, someone answered "Internal Revenue Service."  I asked for Ms. Smith and was told she was out of the office and I said I was just returning her call, they looked at the number I was calling from and said they were calling me to see if I knew the location of some other person, when I said I had never heard of that person, they said "ok, we will remove your number from our files."  This is strange, I'm not sure who to report this type of call to.

Got a robo call from the same "lady." My spouse called back but the "voice mailbox is full."
I knew better so I googled it and got this website.  Thank you!  I will report it.

Got this call today. They wanted alot of money like $6k. First off, they were Indian/[***] sounding guys and when I asked for a new guy, well, it sure sounded like the same guy again. Threats to pay or get arrested. When I finally told them I had no money, the "Restitution Dept" guy just hung up on me and told me be ready for the Sheriff to be at my place tomorrow. I called back just to see what would happen - I was sent straight to what seemed to be a cellular voicemail.

Pretty sure the IRS does not use voicemail. not in that way at least.

Again, the IRS will not contact you over the phone or ever demand payment over the phone. Check their website for scam related info. Of course, in the heat of the moment you call just to be sure but best if you do not. Wasted my time and should be thinking better than that.

Same as others. A call from the IRS. We let it go to voice mail and was told to call back or there would be legal action.

I keep getting calls from this number and others with the same message.  At first it was from an Indian man or woman, now it is a computer generated voice saying the same thing.  I have been told they are from the IRS and also from Treasury Department (which doesn't make sense! ). They say I have an outstanding balance and when I question them and refuse to give them my information they say they will send the police out to arrest me for not paying!  Ha! The IRS will always contact you via mail. Don't fall for this scam!  Don't give them your personal information!! REPORT IT,
