This number had called my phone and i did not answer thinking it was a telemarketer. I got a voicemail 2 minutes later from a teenage boy who left no name no number. Nothing except a message saying " I cant believe your not answering your phone, I see how it is now, alright, well i couldn't care less, except not to hear from me anymore" When i tried to call back it said the number i dialed was incorrect.

It is Block Number, just as *67 or *81 etc. I too received same number but i have no message option. Dont worry at all.

My message was from a debt councelling company that promised 3 months of hassle free protection from creditors yada, yada, yada. I was told to call 1-866-873-6222 for more info.

It was a taped message that could have been from anyone. I'd be careful in case this was a scam that pretends to work like a legit credit counselling agency. That is, you forward a certain monthly payment to them and it is distributed between your creditors at a negotiated rate.

Since I didn't call the number and I have no intention of doing so - nor any debt - I'd really check these people out before getting involved if it were me. For all you know your money could be distributed equally between at bunch of bozos at your local drinking establishment or some phone room overseas.

I just got a phone call from the same weird number.  I answered and no one said anything for a couple of seconds.  I don't have time to sit on the phone and wait so I just hung up.  Bottom line: it's not a safe number so don't give out any information!

Just got the same call from a debt counseling company.  Nice to have their 866 number, if they call again I'll take the time to phone then ten or twenty times, as soon as anything answers I hang up and it costs then $3 a call.  I've started doing this and a lot of these places never call back when it starts costing them money.

When people call you using phone cards or skype, these kinds of numbers come up on your caller id. For example, with a phone card, the person dials a local number, and that number calls your long distance numbers. This middle-man company/card/whoever blocks their # like this so that they're not getting called back by you folks, who are wondering about who called you. Sometimes telemarketing companies use these middle-man companies to get a discount on their long distance calls. So basically, if someone you know might call you from long distance or via VOIP phone, you may want to try answering it.

some [***] just called me from that number as well.  think it was a [***] but there was no one there when i picked up.  it rang a lot till i answered...my guess - automatic dialing that if someone picks up within so many rings than the number is in service...its live and active to sell to telemarketers.

I just got a call from this number... no voicemail or anything yet.. i'll post something if that changes.

They called this morning.  I have now programed my Voip phone to forward their calls straight back to their toll free number.

they call me once a day... get bell or rogers to block it or block it yourself it's a scam BEWARE it's a charge on your phone or informatuion that they want to clean out your bank account.. f@#%$#% talibans

Something sinister is definitely going on. I got three consecutive calls within 24 hour from three numbers in the 416 (Toronto) are code; 000-9946; 0004631; and 0001397. This is obviously the work of computer hackers who have ultimately gotten into peoples emails and are now utilizing an automated system with a cloaking devise so as not to be traced.  Motive is FRAUD and personal ID theft. If they've gotten this far, chances are your conversations are no longer private. Be very careful of what you say and give out NO financial or personal information over your cell. These calls should be reported to police. Only the authorities have the necessary resources to track them down.

I just got a call from this number and it was a message from my local Costco reminding me that my membership had expired.

Received call from this number, I answered, but no one on other end.

someone called me from this number right now. my stupid girl friend said to answer it. i told her the 000-000 freaked me out. well, when i answered, i said hello 3x's with no response. so i hung up.

i just wanted to apologize to my beautiful, loving, nymphomaniac girl friend... she saw the msg i just typed and i was thiiiiiiis close to sleeping on the floor tonight. either way... you know i love you Sugar Puss!

Just got a call from this number. It only showed as 416 on my caller id? So I didn't answer, but some boy left a long message asking what my intentions were to resolve some phantom issue. They boy didn't mention what type of issue he was referring to, but he kept taking breaths during the message which would lead me to believe he was reading from a very long script. I am not usually harassed by scammers, but it is apparent to me that this was a scam. After reading the previous posts, I see how widespread this has been. I advise you not to answer your phone!

There was a long silence at the beginning of the call then I was addressed as Mrs. and my husband's 1st name by a young man who sounded African. He kept asking for Mrs... and would not identify himself. So I said Bye and he actually answered me bye. I didn't wait for anything else. I  hung up. I have gotten calls before from this number but always hung up because the silence was so long. I could hear a lot of conversation in the background, like the kind you hear when you are on the phone with a telemarketer and a lot of other marketers are in the room as well. I would beware, because they had my husband's name associated with the number.

I got a call from 416-000-0000 today, and tried a new approach......

When I was informed that I would be getting a 5.9% interest rate "for life" on my credit card, because at the moment it's high at "more than 10%", I asked the caller what my current rate is - because I can't remember.

I got the quickest hang-up in history!

two months ago it was Bell trying to sell me stuff and they offered to beat my current provider i asked how much  and they quoted a higher price for less service  and when i challenged him *click* just two minutes ago it was Visa wanting to lower my rate. after screwing with the [***] guy on the phone for a minute i informed him i only have prepaid so how are they going to lower it ??? *click*  almost sounded just like the same guy from bell same number 416-000-0000.... SCAMMERS
