Hung up when I answered. Unlikely to be a legitimate number, so probably telemarketer or other BS-spewing nonsense.

They finally talked when I answered the third time. Claimed to be "John" from Bell, though it was likely someone in India (who is not "John"). I asked for the umpteenth time that I be removed from the calling list since I don't have and don't want a business relationship with Bell, and I'm on the Do Not Call list (for whatever that's worth).

When I picked up no one answered.

Some stupid [***] Indian claim to be from Rogers introducing new promotions.  Meanwhile Rogers don't even have a clue or at least try to disassociate itself from the caller.  Rogers wireless communication should be ashamed of itself for selling our info to Indian companies and allowing those companies to harass us like they do.

At first there was no answer, then I was connected to someone in a call center.  Whoever it was, started in to a script "Good Morning sir, how are you?..." when we got disconnected.  The disconnection was VoIP disconnect (I'm a mobile developer - I am familiar with these), which means that the caller was calling from a foreign country over the internet, and the call was being relayed to a local telephone number.

Given that the previous commenters stated that the call was from 'Rogers' or 'Bell' alternately [those two competing providers would never use the same phone number], I'm going to guess that this call was some sort of scam.

Indian accent claiming to be from Rogers.  I told him to hold on a sec because I want to check their phone number on the internet and they hung up.  Obvious scam.  You don't even need to check on the internet.  Legit companies will stay on the phone while you check but the bogus ones always hang up right away.

Just got a call from 416-200-1000. At first no one spoke, then a man with a heavy Indian accent said he was calling from Rogers with a two year special promotion. When I said hello? Again he hung up.

Call from 200-1000 heavy accent from India or Pakistan, said he was calling from Rogers and I told him to get someone to call me back who could speak English because he was wasting my time. He hung up on me. I called back to talk with another Rogers agent and the recording does not say it is Rogers it just says it is 416=200-1000. Hoax.

Heavy Indian Accent, and saying he was calling from Rogers about new promotions. I told him not to call again. He insisted he would call again the next day. Despite, my telling him to not call, he called again the next day. This is becoming harassment.
