do a google on this number - you'll find lots.  I was called by a Rogers Wireless "promotions department"  guy who said he worked for Rogers.  Truth is he works for a 3rd party telemarketer and this telemarketer company he said was in Edmonton.  (So am I)  I couldn't verify anything he said, so I've asked Rogers about it.  Email me if you want more info aboutface @ shaw.ca

The caller called and asked if I was the owner of the phone, when I asked who this was he would not answer the question.  Then he said he was calling about my "Windows computer" , I asked where did he get my number and he hung up.  When I called back it said it was a non- working number.

Someone called from this number. says its from canada but when i looked it up its in morgan hill, CA. stated i was receiving an 8,000 grant from US govt. they gave me a referral number and a new number to call which was 206-462-5509. this number is from Seattle WA. they want me to deposit 299.00 to receive the 8,000. Its ridiculous. Call your local FBI. or report to the Federal Trade Commision at www.ftc.com. These people need to be put behind bars.

A person with an accent similar to the accent of people I know who come from India called and said he was calling about my computer. This is about the fourth or fifth call of this sort I have had. The caller alleges that my computer has viruses, which he will show me . He then instructs me to go to the events log and claims that they are all instances of viruses. According to the caller, this can all be fixed by upgrading to Windows Pro, for $250, which I am to send to "Rajesh" via Wells Fargo. At this point I was laughing too much to continue, and hung up.
That call happened last fall. They have started up again. I just got the fifth call this week

Hindu [***] told me it was "a courtesy call to check your computer for viruses."  He told me to activate the Team Viewer program so he could log onto my computer.  I've done tech support for over 20 years am am very familiar with Team Viewer, so I led him on and told him it was running it on my machine.

But before he could ask me for the logon info, I demanded to know his password so I could logon to HIS computer.  He was flustered, saying "oh no, you must tell me YOUR password."  I said "It doesn't work that way: tell me YOUR password right now so I can log onto your network!" and I became more demanding.  Raji sounded like he was face to face with one of his goofy Vedic gods that was a gay elephant getting ready to cornhole him.  He shyly said "let me get my supervisor..."  Nice to turn the table on these [***].

brutally consistent in their attempts to reach me, i could barely understand the thick Hindu accent. there was poor connection quality and obvious other talking  in the background.  total waste of time. i was given i.d. numbers. i have to call a number 206 462 5509 and he said i must call and call because they are  very busy  call and give them the i.d. numbers and from there they will determine how i get my money ..which i assume will require my  bank info or something else first  they will not get. like a 299. deposit mentioned above.

I just got a call from these guys telling me that thy were from the GOVERNMENT and I had been randomly selected to receive a onetime payment of $7500.00. My caller ID says they are in Ontario, yet my government is in the US. He couldn't really explain that to me and when I told him he was a fraud he told me that if I didn't believe him and wasn't interested that I should hang up. I said I was interested in free money and wanted to know just how I was going to get it. He kept saying if I wasn't interested to hang up. I said I am interested several times but I just don't believe him and he finally hung up on me. When I called back it was a number that could not be reached. FRAUD Marketers!!!

I got the same kind of call today.  A man with a foreign accent asked me if I was the owner of this phone.  I said I was.  He said I have been selected to receive money from the government.  He said I would receive $8,000.   He asked, "Is that good?"  I said, "No".  He said, "Why is that not good?"  I said I want more than that.  He got flustered and said, "But the government is going to give you money".....I said, "I don't believe you and don't call me anymore!"  and I hung up.

They use other numbers too. Apparently looking at the complaints, this number was used in 2007, but then they stopped using it and they came back 'online' in the past month... been pestered by this indian call center/boiler room operation for at least a few years now. i just hang up when i hear an indian voice.
