I am getting thousands call from 1-416-646-8791 and at each time I answer he just toned on me. who is it ?  I don't know   Can someone tell me please ?

This number is driving me nuts 10 to 15 calls per day should I cut off my phone and keep only an outgoing home phone ?

I'm getting the same number calling my office phone. When I pick it up there's absolute silence; not even a dial tone. I'm in Nova Scotia.

dead silence when answered. once a day for several days. too bad the phone companies hide the owners of these type of numbers.

my theory is it test to see what time people are home

I get a call once a day. When I answer there is silent and then it sounds like the person on the other end hangs up on me.

Yep, just like the rest of you; this number calls my office, dead silence, then hang up!

Same here guys.. Its Out of Trontro I am about 4 hours away..  calls.. silence and then hang up..  I am shocked hows this is legal...

Yes I was getting this annoying call too. I just phoned it back and it's the Globe and Mail promotional line or something like that. I requested that I be taken off the list because they've been phoning almost every day for the last 2 weeks. They even gave me a confirmation number so hopefully it worked.

Got this call yesterday, early! didn't answer they left no message. i neveranswer a number i don't know.

It's a call centre calling on behalf of Globe and Mail.  I finally called the number back, was on hold for only 2 mins.  I requested to be removed from the list.  They said they would and gave a confirmation number.  
We shall see.

you know what is stupid is my number is on the DO-NOT-CALL list and i STILL get telemarketers calling me trying to sell stuff and asking me for money,  its bull!!

rofl i just got a call from them and it sounded like a prank call.... so i hung up,,, but sumone was talking and there was talking in the background.

I keep getting this number calling me,
in the middle of the night even!
It is a fax beeping in my ear when I answer the phone,
I have this number for 5 years, I am sure they keep getting error messages,
because I DO NOT HAVE A FAX
you would think some DUMB person on the other end would GET THE HINT
I got my phone number from TELUS (phone provider in Alberta, Canada)
and Telus Telecommunications said their is nothing they can do,
but,
for a $10 dollar charge they put a temporary block on the number...
ya right, this stupid number has been calling me for 5 years, does Telus really think that a temporary block for 3 months will stop them?

when you call the number it says you have reached the IV something centre for GLOBE AND MAIL,
so it is Globe and Mail,
I have no idea why the heck they would be FAXING ME
and I must be on the automated fax redial,
because I will get it 3 or 4 times in the middle of the night,
back to back to back
(same in the day)

you can call this number back, but it is a fax machine that faxes me, it must be registered as the main phone number
so it is both a fax machine and the telemarketing centre
