I just got a call from this number today!!!!  A young man called, saying that he was my grandson and needs money to pay for a car accident he and 2 friends were in.  He's pretty bruised and sore but okay and he needs $5,000 sent to a Walmart in Canada so that he can pay his share and get his passport back to come home to the U.S.  When asked why he was in Canada, he says that he got a girl pregnant and he's trying to convince her not to have an abortion.  

I was lucky, I remembered to ask him a question that only my grandson would know the answer to and he couldn't give me an answer.  I would suggest that anyone else receiving a call like this would do the same, ask them a question only they would know the answer to, and don't give them too much information, like correct names of relatives or friends.

Someone from this number called my grandfather today, saying she was my sister.  She EVEN knew my sisters name!!  Luckily I was with him and he put me on the phone.  Same story as above car crash in Canada and needed $3500 to get home.  When I asked her how we were related she couldnt figure it out and hung up!  BAD NEWS!!!!

This number has been linked to a phone scam from Toronto, Canada. Please do not give out any infomation as you will loose your money.

Called my grandmother a few minutes ago. He knew my name and my grandmothers real name that I never use. Same story as above, called asking for money for a car accident in Canada that happened while he was at a film festival. What a load of bs. Hacker/scammer with some very weird information.

My mom received a call today saying that her grandson was in custody in Nova Scotia and needed $2,500 to pay his fine and other costs.  It was only hours later when I returned a call to the same number that I realized that we had been had.  My nephew was not in Nova Scotia and the whole scam was just that a major scam

Scam,Scam,Scam. Caller said my grandson needed $2900 for a rented car accident and needed to be paid before he could come back to the U.S. My grandson is not even in Canada, he is home. Caller claimed to be an attorney. 416-777-7775

I just received this call, but I did not answer.  Thanks to Google and other people who have received the same contact.  I tried to block this number, but I can't.  Any comments regarding this scam would be very appreciated.

My mother in law, who is 80+ years old,  received a call from this number as well.  The caller identified himself as her grandson who said he was in trouble.  He also knew her address and told her to keep her doors and windows locked.  She did not recognize the voice and told him she was going to call the authorities.

I got a call from this number tonight at 10:50 pm and 10:55pm, I answered no one ever said anything on the other end? I Tried to call it back about 40 times and each time got a busy signal? So what gives?

this number called my grandmother in quebec, i live in ontario. the caller identified himself as my boyfriend, and told my grandmother that he was in jail, in toronto. we apparently had been to a wedding, rented a car and were caught drunk driving. he asked my grandmother for 4,500.00$. the scary part is that my grandmother has 20 grandkids, and im the only one that calls her grandma. she is known as another name by the rest. my grandmother is a very smart lady, and knew it couldnt be us, so she refused to send the money.

Got the call that said grandson was in jail and needed $4500.  Scam for sure.  This number is calling Saskatchewan now.  Don't answer.

My dad just got a call from this number.. and gave his social number.. HELP!

I received a call from phone NO. 416-777-7775 today.  The man called me Grandma.  He said he was in trouble.  He had been in Canada attending the Mirable Film Festival.  He said he was in a two car accident and that he had suffered several injuries, but was OK.  He said not to tell anyone in the family, but he needed help to come back home.  He said he had two drinks before the accident and was charged with a dui.  He told me that charges would be dropped if he paid for the expenses for the two cars.  He said he gave them $1,000, that was all he had.  He needed another $2,900.  He told me to go to a Money Gram store and gave me the number 1-800-666-3945 to find out the nearest location.  He said he would call back in 2 hours. I was supposed to pay the $2900 to the Money Gram and get a reference number.  He didn't sound like my grandson, so I ask him "how is Betty?' a name I made up.  He said she was OK and in his hotel room.  He also said he had lost his cellphone.
We hung up.  In the meantime, I looked up Money Gram on the internet and  found that it was affiliated to Wal Mart.  When he called back, I told him that we didn't have a Wal Mart and no Money Gram and that the closest WalMart was 2-1/2 hours away and that I could not go.  I told him that he would have
to call his mom.  He said he didn't have enought money on his phone card and ask me to do it for him.
He would call me back again in 15 minutes.  In the meantime I looked up a number for the San Antonio Police Dept. and gave it to him. after he said he lost her number.  Evidentially he called  the police number bacause he called me back in about two minutes and said he would get me.

i got a call from this number, and i was trying to check it out where it coming from but is not working.

Watch out - it happened to my grandfather and parents today!  A lady called, saying she was in Quebec, and had a car accident, and needs $4000.  She said she had stiches in her lip, and that was why my parents couldn't tell it was me.  My Mom hung up on her, #69, and this number came up: 416-777-7775.  Be careful!!
