phone calls with no one on line when picked up. STOP IT

Called at least once today.  No response when picked up.  Very annoying.

He's been calling my house too!  I will report him the next time he calls and you guys should as well.

who calls from 416-800-3377 I wish they would stop, very bothersome, they don't leave a message.

Called today - only three rings, so I couldn't even get to the phone - no message.  
What is Iristel Inc.?  A cell phone provider?
(i.e. apparently Iristel is the service provider for this phone - never even heard of them)

No one on the other end of the line.

I wish these people would take a long walk off a short pier and get lost!!

They also called me. They stated they and a Duct Cleaning Service and 'have a great promotion' today! I could hear a lot of chatter in background, like in a Call-Centre.

Its that time of the year again (change of seasons) which gives these fly-by-night duct cleaning businesses another reason to do their marketing blitz. There are call-centres that actually provide 'guerilla marketing' services to these questionable businesses by blatantly circumventing Canadian Laws and disregarding the national Do Not Call List. These calls come in the evening, as late as 10pm and always never disclose a call-back number, location of their store-front (because they don't have one), credible references etc.They all have dubious/general names like "Home Air Services", "AirDuct Cleaning Services", etc. One even told me that they were 'top award winners from the National Duct Cleaning Association of Canada" LOL!
First of all, I am appalled there are lots of people who willingly fall for the 'discount sales' pitch and on price alone let strangers with no traceable businesses nor telephone numbers (nor reference checks) to come into their home for several hours and poke around. You don't know whether they are ex-cons or people who can't work in a legitimate business, casing out your joint or just doing a lousy job and taking your money!
These callers intrude into your privacy (flaunting the DNC list) and then hang up on you of you ask them some reasonable questions about where their business is located. Their mantra is "How many Square Ft is your Home"? I get numerous calls and complaining to the DNC list in Ottawa does nothing to stop them. Its an epidemic that needs to be further investigated by the authorities and shut down. Anyone agree?

These callers are "Home Intruders"  in my books.  The Canadian Government is NOT the least interested in investigating and could care less about such intruders. The "Do Not Call List" does NOT work because it has no teeth.

These people will call multiple times a day and try anything to sell...
The Canadian DO NOT CALL LIST is a joke, these people are laughing at it because CRTC does not care and does absolutely nothing to protect the consumers, they are there to protect Bell, Rogers and Telus.
Have you ever tried to file a complaint regarding a telemarketing call that you just received despite the fact that you are registered on the DNCL? With all the questions and details and the way they ask them makes one feel like he/she is the one being investigated.
Now what I do is one of two things, either I let my kids have fun with these idiots when they call, or I muck them by speaking in some foreign language that they do not understand, they eventually give up.

Daniel from Air Home Services called to offer $99 inclusive duct cleaning including dryer vent cleaning, washer cleaning and sanitizer for the duct work, he spoke with an Indian accent and would not stop talking, Told him I need to discuss with my husband first, he said he would call me back the next day.
I would never have a company I don't know to come to my home and perform any type of service.

These yahoos are calling about air duct cleaning services.  If you ask them to remove your number, they either hang up on you or they assure you that they will remove the number.  I've asked a dozen times and am still being called.  If you ask for a manager - they hang up on you.  I will be filing a complaint with the CRTC and I suggest everyone else do the same.

Picks up the phone... no sound for 5 seconds .. a beep ..then an automated voice says 'goodbye'..

I got a call from this number tonight, didn't answer it. Did a search on the net and it brought me to this page.
I am legally blind and cannot see the caller display on my cable phone. I wanted to get my caller display on my computer monitor.  I had a dial up modem installed on my computer, installed a free program from CNet called Phone Tray. Can now see who is calling. This program shows name and phone number, but sometimes the number is private, unknown, so you still don't know who is calling. That's when I do a bit of searching and find out who called. but.. this program will allow me to zap the caller the next time he calls. A wav file kicks in after the first ring, (about 10 different wav files in all)  some of the wav files are irritating which I don't care since I'm not the one listening to it. The person that phones and  is harassing me gets to hear it.  I just wanted to share this info with you all. I have no financial gain in telling you about this, program is virus free, no emails sent to you. I have been using this for 2 years now and wouldn't be without it.  CRTC and DNCL is a waste of your  time, they won't do anything. So I deal with these harassers my way now..ZAP!  .

Why does anybody have the right to call at night to disturb the occupant. wtf - I though we had do not call lists to circumvent these issues

I wish they would just go away.

Within the past 2 hours (Oct. 21 4-5 pm) we received 6 calls from this phone number (416) 800-3377 "Air Duct Cleaning"  And at least 10 calls on occassiins prior to this.
The first call was a recording.  When I picked up the phone all I heard was good-bye.  (I have had many calls in the past from this phone number ----- We are an Air Duct Cleaning Co and we are in your neighbourhood.   This person (Pakistan) you cannot  insult him.
After receiving the call I redialed the number on my phone.   I asked the Pakistan why he was calling my phone number and then the speel....We are a duct cleaning co. and we are on your street.
In No certain words I told him exactly where to go and I said don't ever call here again and I hung up.
He called back 5 times....this time I let my husband do the talking.
My husband was told  by this person  that he has the right to call us (even though we told him we are on the no-call list) and that he received permission from the GTA Homeservice (Co. doesn't exist).   He also stated that the Canadian Government Health Department gave him permission.   He told us to check out his website.   My husband told him that no such companies exist and that we are on the no-call list and stop calling.   We also heard a lot of noise in the background and it sounded like an office with a lot of people in it.
If anyone knows a way of reporting this person in order to stop the calls, please let us know.

We have asked them to remove out number many times.....no such luck

I received a call from them last nite @ 8:45 p.m. - some guy identified himself (I only really heard his last name "phuong" another  telemarketer who can't  speak English - I have many other calls from telemarketers & have found out these callers are from Bell Canada & blasted several people until I reached someone who finally & hopefully removed my name from their lists - the most famous # to call & harrass me is from 000-000-0000 - I reported this to Bell & eventually these calls stopped from this number also although they did call here again about a month ago

I asked their name, supervisor's name & what country they are calling from as I will be forwarding their names to my lawyer as I will be filing harrassment charges again them - that puts them in sheer panic mode & they hang up

This number 416-800-3377 is something to do with an air duct company.
This number called my house last night. I told them I wasn't interested.
They called again today. I yelled at them and told them I wasn't interested.
The guy calls back right after and asks why I'm being abusive to him.
I told him, why are you being abusive to me, you keep calling and harassing for me to buy your [***] when I specifically told you twice I do not want any.
So he called at least another 20 times non stop after that, ringing, ringing, ringing, on and on and on. If I picked up, he would hang up and call right back.
If you get a call from this person do not answer it or he will harass you.
I pressed *69 and got his number, and redialed it to give him a taste of his own medicine.
If you are going to harass people you should be smarter and block your number before calling idiot.
