Got in and saw this number had called at 5:20 PM (12 May).  There was a dead air /  hang up msg left. No clue who they are or what they want.

I am plagued by these people, who are they and what do they want ? Thier number is 4169157928

It was Scotia Life Financial. I have no idea why they're calling me, seeing as how I don't use their services anymore.

They are bugging me too......  bloody hell.

They called to offer me a free 2000$ life insurance, from Scotia Bank, because they said "I was such a good client". I refused everything they offered and I asked for their number to call them back. He gave me another number 1-800-387-9844, which is Scotia Life. I immediately called Scotia Bank. They never heard of such deal.

I am getting calls from this number constantly.  Even on Sundays!!!  Apparently they claim to be associated with ScotiaBank.  I tell that i deal exclusively with my branch, but it doesn't seem to sink in.

I don't even deal with Scotia what a freakin' scam

received a call from 416-915-7928, they left no message! would like to know who is the caller?

I am getting a bunch of calls from them too. If it is a scam, as it seems to be... it's been going on a while. Maybe I'll pick up next time they call and get to the bottom of this.

They know both of my phone numbers. They left with a no a word message to both. I have car insurance with scotialife if it is from them, but they are not supposed to know my second no. because I never provided it to them. Very wierd.

They keep calling me i am with scotiabank but i dont know why their calling me they call all the time never leave a message i call back to tell them to stop calling me and leave a message but they still keep calling me
Leave me alone damnit at first i thought it was a creditors but it isnt how many times do u have to call me and i dont answer for you to stop lol

So an Indian guy calls me earlier and asks for me by name and says he's from Microsoft saying my computer downloaded malicious files.  He stuttered a bunch with his story when I was asking why MS would call me.  I asked for a number to call them back he gave me 416-915-3536 and then I said you sound like a scam bro and he laughed and said "you're right, you figured it out" and hung up.

Four hours later 416-915-7928 calls and asks for me I tell them wrong number.

I looked into this 7928 number and now realize they called me the other day.
The guy who called me the second time, that I said had wrong number, it was the same guy, I remember his voice now.  He was Indian sounding, but not a thick accent like the guy who called me "from Microsoft" earlier.

Anyways The 7928 guy said I was a good Scotia customer and offered me life insurance.  
I was polite and said I'm broke so don't even bother.

Kept trying to sell me on insurance.  

Anyways I guess their second attempt was today with the Microsoft Tech (fake).

Where are they getting our names and numbers from?  I heard from many places including resume/job sites.

The phone I answered isn't even in my name.

Received more than one call from this number usually early evening on my cell phone.  I always reject the number but still keep getting calls.

Below is the message I recieved from Scotiabank about these phone calls:

We have received your inquiry with respect to ScotiaLife Insurance and would like to speak with you directly.  We have Optima Telecommunications calling potential clients on our behalf.  They sell a lot of different products on our behalf:  Accidental Death, Term Life, Hospitalization, Guaranteed Life.  When they do a sale on the phone they have to confirm your name, address, phone number and year of birth.  If you want to be removed from the call list please call us to confirm your details.

Repeatedly calls from this number. No messages left.

I cought them, they called me saying calling about my visa card with Scottia, then I told them I don't have a visa suddenly they changed their speach to master card and I said is it TD card? they said yes, which is a lie I don't have an account with them I told them that it was scan and they hung up, no more calls after that
