417-800-2294  Caller ID says "Search Engine.  

Call began with a recorded message claiming it was a call from a "data compiler" for Google asking me to press 1 to verify my information for Google.  After pressing 1 and a short wait, a live person came on the phone:

Spammer:  "Are you the owner of the business?"

Me:  "I am."

Spammer:  "What's your first name?"

Me:  "Why is that relevant?"

Spammer:  "So people can find you on Google".  

Me:  Are you a legal agent of Google?  

Spammer:  "We are Google certified" (big deal, so am I).  

Me:  "That's not what I asked.  I asked if you are representing Google?"

Spammer:  obviously irritated... and snotty... "Have a nice day"   CLICK.

I understand that telemarketing is difficult at best, but any company that begins a relationship with a lie, or feels they have to fool you into thinking they are someone else in order to be relevant, is a company you do not want to do business with.

Recorded message:  Began with " are you the business owner, if so, this is a very important message for the business owner".  Then the same as the other 100 that I have on my spam number list:  Please press one to be listed on google.

I always press one, and then put the phone on hold.  Do these idiots really think that lying to me and pretending to be associated with google is going to make a partnership.  Get real.  

They change numbers every week, but they are the same company.  I compiled an interesting list of numbers from a friend, who happens to have the low down on this type of "spoof".

I keep getting these calls, even after I have asked to be put on a do not call list!

Same as the rest.  If you go to Google's home page, there's a link to advertise.  Why would anyone give these people the time of day.

If fools would stop giving their money to these people and others like them, they'd go away.  Just say no!

These morons often call three times a day.

This number keeps calling me and they don't even say anything! The line is silent and then after I say hello twice *click*. So irritating.

Just got a call.  Thanks for the heads up on this solicitation.

The same people who where sending out so much spam now are robo calling people.

A lot of these phone numbers are fake!

Makes you wonder who would do business with these people.

I am quite sure that the telemarketers that are doing this job are DRUNKS, DRUGGIES, OR ON PAROLE and have ben brain washed (BECAUSE OF THE LOW IQ) that that they will make lots of $$$$ in commissions (I KNOW THIS BECAUSE I ASKED) but this sadly does not happen and the only person making money is yup you guessed it THE SCAM ARTIST!

And what do these DRUNKS, DRUGGIES, AND PEOPLE ON PAROLE get in return? This is where the fun starts.

THEY GET YELLED AT, SWORN AT, HUNG UP ON, ETC.... AND THEY MAKE "NOTHING" THATS RIGHT THEY ARE JUST WASTING THERE TIME!

WHAT IS REALLY LAME IS THEY ARE TO STUPID TO SEE IT!

The only thing that as I see it that might make things better for these people is the satisfaction of blowing the whistle on there bosses!

Anyway my suggestion just hang up on these loosers do "NOT" give them the satisfaction of knowing they got to you... If you have the time waste there time get to them!!!!

This number keeps calling me and they don't even say anything and leaves no message.

I like getting these calls.

As of this date 12/10/12 this company is still actively soliciting.

When we returned the call to see who this was, a recorded message said "to have your phone number added to the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY, please press 1." We thought it was the FCC, but instead of pressing #1 chose to report it to the FCC as our number is listed on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY.

We do not know that actual identity of this caller.

Same story as everyone else. They call every. single. day.

Today I finally pushed "1" and then asked to be taken off the list and this smartass goes, "Ok, I'll do that but I can't take you off every list in the whole world so if you get a call back it's not us. Bye" and hung up on me.

Seriously?

I have no doubt by 5 when I leave work they will have called again.

What can be done about these people? I would pay thousands and thousands of dollars to the person who could come up with a fool-proof solution to all these kinds of calls.

I get these calls repeatedly. At least 3x a week for about a month now. I stopped answering when I see that number.

we have been receiving ph calls from 4178002294 on a regular basis and after answering the line goes dead. Annoying!!

I get calls two or three times a week from this number, in spite of the fact that my home number is on the do not call list. Whenever I answer, I wait to see if a live person jumps on but there is only silence for three or four seconds before they disconnect the call. Very annoying.
I've already reported this as a violation of the do not call rules since my number has been on that list for well over a year.

This number calls my workplace repeatedly - we've tried to get through to a person but they blast something rude and then hang up.
The national do not call site recommends not pushing any buttons, including the one for take me off the list.
Even if you're not on the do not call list you can complain because it's a recorded message complaints.donotcall.gov

That may be because your name isn't spelled right. If you only had one "n" in your name, I'll bet you wouldn't like getting the calls.
