- Pam| 2 repliesJust got a call. Someone was on the other end. They held on the line for a few seconds before they hung up. I've recent calls from this number on a few different occasions over the last few months. My caller ID states it was Chattanooga Publishing.
- Caller: Chattanooga Publishing
- Terri replies to PamIt's the Chattanooga Times Free Press. They called my son's cell phone today and didn't leave a message. I called the number right back and asked that his number be removed from their calling list. The lady was very nice but I am skeptical as to whether the number will be removed or not.
- Cassondra| 1 replyThis is unbelieveable! I just got this phone last night & I already have sales calls? This is ridiculous. If I wanted the paper I'd call them.

- PeteI have gotten several calls on my home phone AND on my cell phone from them -- multiple times a day. Never any message and caller id doesn't identify them. I called the number back after hours though and the recording says I've reached the Chattanooga Times Free Press Circulation Dept. But we already have the full weekly subscription, so why are they bothering us???!!! What more can they possibly want from us? I have a mind to call and cancel our subscription. My cell phone is for friends and family and emergencies only -- no one else should be calling on it. I'm fuming.
- Caller: Chattanooga Times Free Press
- BillJust got another one of those darn calls that even extreme caller ID can't fully understand and low and behold would't ya know looked it up on the good ol internet and it is our local news paper. I don't want it, I will call them if I do, I don't want to be bothered after woking all day. Please they need to call at a respectable hour of the day.

- BRCI just received my 3rd call from 423-757-6997. The 1st one I didn't answer. The second one I answered and asked for the number to be removed from their call list as my number is on the Federal Do Not Call list. This 3rd call I answered but no one was on the line. I have filed a complaint with the FTC. I also called the President of Chattanooga Free Press and was transferred to their telemarketing department. They didn't seem to care and wanted my number so they could remove it from their list. They will not stop till they are heavily fined, or lose enough customers over this.

- NicoleMy husband and I both get calls from them AT LEAST 12 times a day. I'm sorry but to me that seems like harassing people, especially when no one is ever on the other end of the line!!!

I did a reverse AVN lookup on the government proxy server after reversing the TNR line and this number is listed in the batabase as an active FBI "spoof" number which they use to track people down. Once you answer your phone...a reverse trace is initiated and all your calls are directed through the mainframe switchboard through the TEU Department. Either YOU or someone YOU KNOW has the attention of the FBI. - Andy replies to PamThey just tried to call me. I didn't answer. They have done same thing to me before
- Concerned Citizen replies to FedExYou are an idiot
- DaveI was receiving numerous calls on my cell phone from them.....I finally told them I received the weekend edition of their paper but if I received one more call on this # I was cancellling....I haven't received anymore. Honestly I don't know why I don't cancel the rag anyway.
- maureen replies to Patriciason got a call on his ipod. would not be so funny but we are way up in Bristol. But, I am not mad, I know everyone is hurting right now.
- MegahausHere's the 5 step plan that I used to eliminate this problem:
1. It IS the Chattanooga Times Free Press (Not the FBI as some dumb ass mentioned earlier)
2. I went to their website and clicked on "Contact Us"
3. I clicked on "President Jason Taylor" jtaylor@timesfreepress.com
4. I sent the following email to Mr. Taylor with "Harassing Calls" in the subject line
Mr. Taylor,
I have been receiving multiple daily telephone calls from 423-757-6997. I have Google'd this number and see that it is The Times Free Press. I understand that economic times are tough and it's probably a telemarketing autodialer, since no message is being left, and it rings only three or four times. But I also need you to understand that the number being called is my cell phone (423-xxx-xxxx) and I am not on an unlimited calling plan either. Please have my information deleted from your records.
I thank you in advance for your help in resolving this matter.

5. Within an hour, I got this reply:
Mr. H****,
I apologize for the phone calls you have been receiving from our department. I have deleted your number from our records. If you have any further problems regarding this issue, you may contact me directly at (423) 757-xxxx. Again, I am very sorry for any inconvenience we have caused you.

I did not threaten, cuss, or launch any consumer complaints with the BBB. Sometimes taking the kind approach will reap results.
I checked my last two months worth of cell bills and found "37" calls from this number. And since the email was sent this morning... I have received '0" today.
Happy Thanksgiving!!- Caller: Chattanooga Times Free Press
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Lina replies to wormzI KNOW! Me too. They really need to be stopped.
- messenager replies to Cassondrajust because you get a new phone doesnt mean you get a "fresh" number. 50 other people could've had your cell phone # at one point in time
- stupidnumber replies to wormzThis has happened to me the past 3 days
