- alsonotafool replies to not a foolI have received several of these calls from a David,Richard, and Anthony, all of whom sound exactly alike and have a middle-eastern accent. I refused to believe "them" each time they have called. I told the first guy he was an idiot because I don't have a computer and I thought he was a scammer and hung up. I thought it was the end of it but a few days later they called again(same guy, different name) and I got pissed and told him he was an "f-ing scammer" which he denied. I kept calling him a F-ing scammer(I used the real word) and he went ballistic on me and I assume he was cursing my goats&camels in his language and hung up on me. I received another call today and challenged this guy and requested a phone # so I could have my husband call him back because my husband is an IT tech too(he is not). I was given 424-256-3700. When they call it appears as "UNKNOWN" on my phone. They knew my name and cell phone # . My cell phone is not listed anywhere under my name. This is definitely a scam!!!
- jdseveral Indian men have called me saying they represent MICROSOFT. They tell me they are recieving a lot of error codes from my computer. I'm on dial up so have no way to go on line to the site they gave me. (www.ammyy.com).
- richard PayneVictor Davis "Supposedly" claims he's from Windows tech support.
- Caller: Windows Technical Support
- pamI got 3 calls from them in 1 day. Caller claims to be from Microsoft Windows; says they have been monitoring a high number of problems with my Windows, and on my keyboard I must hold down the Windows key and the R key simultaneously, and they will give me instructions to run some type of diagnostic.....I was very suspicious because the call came from the weird area code phone # of "080-072-4469". I told him I was suspicious and wanted proof that he was from Windows; he put his supervisor Paul on the line. I again said I wanted a # to call them back on to prove they were from Windows and he said to call 424-256-3700. I did not call them back. I ran a McAfee virus scan and everything is OK on my computer. These are scammers!!

- imatnowhereI just received a call from this weird number too, though it was a woman with a Indian accent, I noticed that several calls a day had come from this number and decided since I was home to answer. When I told her that I didn't have that type of computer, she hung up. What happened to the do not call list we all joined, this number might come up, but it always says unknown. I think that do not call registery isn't working.
- Caller: Microsoft
- erussoThey called my MIL just now and I insisted she get a phone number. All of what is listed above is accurate in the accent and where they say they are calling from. I had her call her phone company and have the number blocked.
- MouseI was told my computer was NEW and has been hacked and my bank accts and personal information is "leaking out". The CID is: Unavailable 182-010-5008. I asked for a name and he told me he was Daniel Brown with Window calling from the alert center in California. I told him I would call HIM back, after hesitating he gave me the number 424-256-3700. I call my computer support tech and was told this is a SCAM. Hang up, do NOT give them any info at all!

- Gremlin| 1 replyThis guy called my 85 year old father saying that his computer was giving error messages to Microsoft and he was calling to fix it. I have coached my father to release zero information to anyone he was not familiar with regarding his computer. He said he was nick and gave the number 424.256.3700. I called it back and they said they could prove that the computer had issues. He had a very strong Indian Accent. Nick walked me through a process and had me go to the Windows event viewer. Nick asked how many "events" occurred and I said 45 thousand (knowing that this is a normal amount of events items in the event log). Nick indicated that this was extremely bad and that my computer could crash at any moment. He said "do not click on an event or my machine would never run again". He then instructed me to go to a website. I asked what the website would do and he replied that it would give him control over my machine and he would fix the problem. At that point I told him that I would just "fix" it myself. He became very aggressive telling me that my machine was ready to crash and that I need his help. Unbelievable scam. I am going to dig up an old computer and let him take control just to see where he goes or what he does. The fact that he used my event viewer log to "scare" me into using his services is hilarious. Unfortunately, he may find some victims who are not computer savvy.

- IvanMy brother in rural Australia hung up on calls from 424 256 3700 many times over a period of about 12 months but in mid August 2013 he finally gave them a hearing. It was a male with an Indian accent who then passed the call over to his female accomplice.
My brother is a complete novice computer user but they convinced him to switch on his computer and follow instructions, supposedly to "fix the Windows problems" and make it "work faster".
He gave out his credit card details and later saw a debit of $144 on his card. They continued to call, but he would hang up each time. However a week ago he took another call where they offered him a refund. They talked him into giving them control over his computer. The next day a large amount of money was transferred from his bank accounts. Notification of a Western Union money transfer account and a auto-recharge Skype account suddenly appeared in his emails, along with emails from his Bank confirming changes to his accounts.- Caller: Technolog Solution
