This number 425-296-7936 took my money. This man lied that i won 7,000 dollars from Washington DC. I never got no money but they got my money! I gave them 2,000 dollars cuz he said i owned IRS money!

Got a call saying I received a grant for $1000.  Needed to call to follow up.......425 296 7936

hey this f**k*n b*#c*s tried to con me trying call themselves AMERICAN GRANT DEPARTMENT,they told me  i was selected for a grant of 7k,they gave this number and told me to call the account manager,when i called i was told to go to a western money union with my hard earned $221 when i get there call them through my cellphone for further instructions.I could not buy it i called the cops,they simply told me it is a scam if they call again tell them i already called the police on them.Isn't there a way this numbers can be traced and this people get arrested?

They called me and keep calling and I googled the number cuz I keep having the [***] calling saying we won money or we owe them they will soon be caught punk [***]

I just got scammed by these same people, I was told that they were from the United States Government and that I had been chosen along with 1499 other people for a 7000.00 grant and since i hadnt filed bankcrupt that i was eligable for the money....well i sent 215.00 through western union and paid 10.00 for service charges and was told that I would be receiving a call from the higher authority..the next day a lady called my cell from a 202-684-6407 saying that she was the higher authority and told me that since my state wasn't tax free i had to pay 435 for my state to accept the transaction. And we exchanged words cause all the while, I want my 225.00 back. She then stated that she could put my money on hold (7215.00) that which I had sent and the 7000.00 that the government was suppose to had been giving.....I told that lady i was going to the police and then she deemed that I had 1hour to send 435.00 in order to receive my grant. I do have a police report,have called the FTC,Western Union,and Alaska Consumer protection. This is my lesson for 2011 and I can't wait until they are busted! why would any1 just give out money without verifying 1st.  come on ppl what were u born yesterday? do u live under a rock or something?! since when do u get a cheap phone call when u owe serious debt to the government.  u will either find out the next time you pay taxes or you will get an official letter with an official address and department. etc etc.... DUH!!!  STOP BEING A VICTIM!!!

They would stop scamming us if they had no one left to scam. Stop giving them what they want....Come on now...get a grip

I just received a call from the USA Government agency saying that I was selected to receive 7K today but I had to call this number back 425-296-7936 with the code MK405 and they would verify that I was the right person.  When I called the number Sharon Jones told me to go to the Western Union with $225 and I was to call her once I got there and she would stay on the phone with me until I received my money. The $225 was a security deposit that I would receive back once my information was verified.  She even told me to go to www.grants.gov and gave the address as 200 Independence Ave NW Washington, DC.  She said that if I did not have the money that they would put my money aside until I get the $225 then I could go to Western Union and get my 7k plus my $225.  It sounded like a scam and I tried to ask every question to make sure it was a scam and I believe it is a scam so I did not give them the money.

I got a phonecall saying that i had been picked out of 1500 people to receive a $7,000.00 grant from the government. They asked me how i would like to receive my money, via check, cash, or through debit/credit. Having a very strong feeling that this was a scam to begin with, being how that the person who called me could barely speak straight english, let alone be a representative from the US governement grant depeartment, i told them cash. He told me to call 425-296-7936 and inform then that indeed i was who i am and he also gave me an verification code, MK405. Being the usually unlucky person that i am, i became suspicious and googled up the area code 425 first, and there proved my suspicion right. it was a washington STATE area code, not washington DC. After noticing this, i typed in the entire phone number on google search bar and i came to this website. never will i call such a rediculous proposal without first doing a quick background check

Anytime anyone tells you you earned FREE money, make sure you 1. do a background check on anything and everything they inform you on. and 2. MAKE SURE YOU DONT PAY THEM TO RECEIVE YOUR FREE MONEY!

I got a call saying that I won 7k from the government because I pay my taxes and never late.  But I was at work so I told them to call me back later.  But when I think about it I tried calling the number, it said it was a non-working number.  Never called back.  But I didn't believe it so I am glad I didnt say any information at all.

I just got a call from the same people! I was like WTF and when we got off the phone, I googled the number 4252967936 and I found this website saying it was a scam! WTF? How do these people get my information? It just makes me sick, I'm def not calling it. Glad I looked it up!!

People i got the same call from unknown # and after Mike tells me i being selected then he gives you this # to call  425-296-7936, then the representative call Jennifer from American grants answers, in which they state i was chosen from 12,000 people for having a good credit and not having a felony conviction, then they explain that i will receive $7000.00 either to my debit card, bank account or cash by picking it up thru western union,but i had to deposit $240.00 and they will stay on the phone and get then get back the $7000 plus the $240, they also gave me  a confirmation# MK405, good thing o did some research and did not get caught,

Just wanted to say thankyou for writing this, it does permit other people from getting scammed, I thought it sounded fishy and I googled the phone number and your comment came up!! Thanks so much for putting the word out!

I recieved the same call everyone else did but I immediately looked up the number on google. As soon as I read that it was a scam I started cursing them out and they were not very professional. The women on the other line told me to go Fu$$ my mother and that She was my neighbor laying down naked next door to come and get her. These people are sick if you get the chance tell them they have been selected for a $7000 dollar grant. They don't like that.

I just got this number, and said I needed to go to western union, put a security deposit, then they would send me 7000 back...I didn't fall for it, but they wouldn't tell me how much the deposit was!

OMG the exact same thing happened to me on saturday!!! I went to the westen union and sent 240.00 dollars for a "security deposit" and was told i would get it right back with the 7grand i was told i was aprroved for and my freaking phone went dead and had to take bus all the way back home just to find out that i also had to pay 400 and something dollars for taxes on this grant and told them HELL NO! I just sent u guys the only money i had to last me for the next 2 weeks!!! He told me tht was fine that he would refund my money and send a check to me in the mail and i would have my money today ( wednesday) and guess what? No check! I can't believe this [***]! That was all of my money and i got scammed and i never ever fall for stuff like this, but i have been going through some tough times and i guess they got me when i was at my weakest point! I don't know what to do!!!
