Software scam per other sites, I got a call from them, didn't answer, they left no message.

I just got a call from this number.  It was so hard to hear the caller because of the accent AND the other operators in the background.  Essentially, the caller was telling me that my computer was infected and there was a big problem with it.  He so kindly asked me to go to my computer so he could help me.  When pressed, the caller reread his script about the "problem."  I asked for more details and he didn't know what to do with that.  After a few minutes I asked to be removed from his list.

The thing that came to mind was he was probably wanting me to turn over control of my computer to him.  Nope.  No siree.

I got the same thing about the guy with a terrible accent saying he was from Microsoft and that he was reported a problem about my computer sending viruses all over the internet.
He asked me to go to my computer and turn it on.
I told him I was a MCSE, which I am and that Microsoft doesn't do such things.
He told me that they were hired by Microsoft to do it.
That's when I got totally irate with the ignorant [***] and told him to get bent.
he hung up and when I tried to call back all i got was a recording about a Marketing
Firm and that I should press 1 to have my number removed.
Also reporting this number to the authorities.

I got a call from this number at 12:42 am.....yes, you read that correctly- at 12:42 am - fortunately, the a/c was running and I didn't hear the phone ringing!  Obviously, this wasn't legitimate- to be calling abtobe at that hour....what a bunch of lowlifes!

recieved a call from this number at 07:05 PDT this morning (Saturday)  I called them back, and using their own voice instructions,  removed our number from their "preferred marketing list". Info provided indicated it may take up to 72 hours for this to occur. We will wait and see. Better than doing nothing.

We have caller ID, and it came up as ... 425-406-9022. then we hung up to do a reverse look up on the number. Obviously she had a bad accent and was hard to understand.  But she called again!!! The second time, however,it came up as "Top Google Pages" with the number as 970-217-9518.

she claims to be contracted by Windows, but never mentioned "Microsoft" Windows.

Anyways given that she couldn't tell me what OS i was running or the when the error started, i hung up and haven't received a call from them since.

I personally think from everything i could gather, that THIS IS A SCAM!!!! Don't ever let anyone else have control of your computer!

I answer with a forceful "HOMICIDE" when I get calls like this, normally they don't call again.

Claimed that I would get two complimentary cruise passes if I answered a 10 question survey

Just got a call from this number @ 3:22 ET on my cell, I didn't recognizes it so I did a search and got this site. They did not leave a message, so I called from another phone and got an automated (slightly garrbled) message thanking me for calling their marketing promotions and that if I wish to be removed from thier distrubution to press 1.

The odd part was that they did not give any other options or ask me if I would like to take part in their "marketing promotions"

I believe that the are recording which numbers are valid to "market" (sell) to companies....

Someone at this number called my direct personal extension at my place of business today but did not leave a message. Glad I found this page so I don't waste time with him/her if they should ring again.

Got a call today @10:52am on my civi day off. A female caller with Indian accent to info me that my computer infect with virus. I told her I don't have any computer and asked her to remove my tel# from her marketing list. It is very annoy.

Got a call from this number and told him I could not understand him. He started his speech again.  I told him could not understand  him and told him to give me an American to talk to. He started his speech again and I screamed for an American to talk to. He hung up on me. What a LOSER!!!!

someone called and wanted to access our computer. Knew we were running Windows and wanted access to it so they could check it. I told him no. Asked what social networks I was using, etc. Definately a scam. I didn't initiate the helpdesk call.
