Possible scam requesting a reply to email (john.kennedy051@gmail.com) regarding a car I advertised on carsales.com.au.  Caller is from United Kingdom - very strange.

Received an SMS from this number enquiring about my car I advertised on carsales.com.au. He requested I contact him by his email john.kennedy051@gmail.com. He is definitely a scammer

i also recently got the exact same thing...a text from this uk no. saying email me at john.kennedy051@gmail.com about my car i advertised on ebay...BIG SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Called to inquire about my car on car sales

Just received a message from edward.johnson052@gmail.com only 30 minutes after posting an ad in the Trading Post. Will not bother doing anything about it. Thank you for posting your info on line

Received an SMS. Massive Scam artist. People have been hit by this before. Number was +447024093688

This person just texted me 1 hr after postingmy car on boostcruisin.com, i dont know why i googledhim but im glad i did otherwise i might have been scammed!!!! how would he scam us though??

I too received a message from edward.johnson052@gmail.com only 30 minutes after posting an ad in the Trading Post. I was suspicious that he asked for an email reply and I was going to send an SMS reply but noticed the number +447024093688 is not an Aus mobile number. Did a google search and found this page. Added the number to my auto reject list and will not be sending an email as it will only confirm my email and set me up for a [***]-storm of spam.

I have received the same message from the UK number +447024093688 asking me to email edward.johnson052@gmail.com.

I posted an ad on carsales less than 2 days ago and have received 4 text messages with similar content from scammers. Beware!

If you respond to them, they will promise to send you money via palpal etc - it's a SCAM - do not respond.

I have received the same message from the UK number +447024093688 asking me to email edward.johnson052@gmail.com. Didn't pay much attention to his phone number and I emailed him.

He sent me an email requesting for more details and pictures of my car. He then says due to the nature of his work he won't be able to travel out of the UK to come for the inspection however, he will need my full contact address so that he can forward it to his shipping agent in the UK who will be inspecting the car and shipping it.

Definitely a scam

He scams by getting you to use PayPal and then he sends an email that looks like it was from PayPal asking you to send money so that they can release the entire amount to you. IT IS A SCAM....... Don't trust anyone that wants money first.

Got him today also...about 30mins after I updated the add on Car Sales.  Used the address mark.morris010@gmail.com

Sms me about my car from carsales and said to email them because their phone does not work, their email is Steven.hall00@gmail.com. Definitely a scam.

full condition of the car as am buying it for my wife who just gave
birth to a baby boy in my absentia in this festive season, she lives in perth,am a sailor and
am currently onboard.
i want to be sure if the car is still in good condition ,
preferably if i can get more close up picture (engine inclusive), i
will not be able to come for inspection now all i really need from you
is the exact details of the car.Due to the nature of my work i am a
very busy man working all day .i will pay with the fastest and safest
online payment "PayPal" so i will need you to send me your paypal
email address so i can effect the payment,as i have my bank a/c
attached to my paypal account. will be sending my shipping company to
come and pick it up and make a personal delivery for my wife in WA
after have sorted out with the payment

Just had the same scam - new it was to good to be true.  He got my details off carsales.com.au.   Sent me the same email about his wife and his baby and him being out at sea.  (hope the boat sinks!)

In case you don't have a PayPal account,Its reliable fast,secure and
easy to use PayPal,all you need to do is to log on to visit
www.paypal.com and register with them. When you are done with the
registration send me the email used for the registration with PayPal
so i can make the payment.Please get back to me so that we can arrange
for pick up as i will like the car to be picked by a pickup
agent.Await your response.

Thanks for the prompt response.. I have read through the information on the website and am ready to purchase it now as a gift for my father. I am at sea at the moment as i am a marine engineer and due to the nature of my work, phone calls making and visiting of website are restricted but i squeezed out time to check this advert and send you an email regarding it. I really want the car to be a surprise for my father so i wont let him know anything about the car until it gets delivered to him, i am sure he will be more than happy with the car. I insisted on paypal because i don't have access to my bank account online as i don't have internet banking, but i can pay from my paypal account, as i have my bank a/c attached to it, i will need you to give me your paypal email address reconfirm the price so i can make the payments asap for the car and pls if you don't have paypal account yet, it is very easy to set up, go to www.paypal.com.au and get it set up, after you have set it up i will only need the e-mail address you use for registration with paypal so as to put the money through. I have a pick up agent that will come and pick the car up after i have made the payments...
