I got the same message from the same number just 2 minutes ago. I also don't know what this is about.

I received the same message so it's most probabely a fishing attempt.

I have also received the same message, and my husband. Of course that it is a scam, but, what about the authorities? We have to BE PROTECTED AGAINST SUCH THIEVES! It is NOT normal to be disturbed at night, in the morning, etc, by such type of messages! That`s why we pay taxes! To be PROTECTED!

The number seems to be a Vodafone mobile.    See if they can help.

Got it. Looks like a virtual Uk number... Definitely a scam.

Fake Tam, the message can also be sent from any one,ten or a whole block of  thousands of the world's billions of smartphones,tablets,laptops or pcs along with momentary access to said mobile phone at one time.Numbers can be also spoofed with an app.
I wouldn't need to tell T&M that to stop him giving out your duff information.

Just received the same message. And already checked that. It's virtual UK number which transfer call over to its origin in Nigeria if you call it back. Sometimes I wish to find those [***] in person and smash their heads with crowbar for those spams. Advice - do not reply to e-mail given in message! Who knows what that would do.

It is possible a real mobile phone was stolen in the uk and used to create caller ID for any Skype or other voip account.

... if you can only reply via the gmail address in the sms then the phone can be deactivated.
The con trickster would need credit to forward calls, no?
