Want whomever this is who called me to go to hell and leave people alone. Now they have our cell numbers the slime balls

Called about a car I posted on on craigslist, i got a voicemail with a long automated message stating they need more info on the car and gave me the number to call, the website, or the app I can go to in order to get a quote and find one of their dealers near me. Not sure if this is legit or not.

Please can you share if it went further as I also got a call from this number a person called Jim and said I can call back and reach out to Extension 119 or main board 125. He said the same thing about evaluating my car and will send the offer in next 3-5 hours and then based on the price I can go to the local dealership and will be paid accordingly.

Got the same scam, message about my Craigslist posting today on my home phone. SCAMMERS!

I as well and I honestly was hoping it was real and not a robo call.  I called the number and they don't even give a business name. SCAM!!! Not the one!

Did you give Jim personal information? Just curious on what they are supposedly basing the offer on if you aren't giving them personal information. Thanks!

Listed a car for sale on Craigslist & rec'd a long-winded call from "Jim" today claiming he needed more info about me before he would consider purchasing.  I'm not even going to call back as I doubt someone in TX in interested in a car in Ohio! Scam call if I've ever heard one & have now blocked the #.

SCAMMERS BE AWARE THEY TAKING PERSONAL INFORMATION BASED ON NOTHING DONT ANSWER THE PHONE OR GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION .

They will ask you for the VIN.  Do not give it to them as they can cut a key and steal your car.

I PUT AN AD ON MASSACHUSETTS CRAIGSLIST, RECIEVED A VOICE MAIL FROM THE NUMBER
469665167. SHORTLY AFTER I RETURNED THE PHONE CALL AND SPOKE TO A MAN CLAIMING HE WAS IN HOUSTON TEXAS, BUT HAD A BUYER IN MY AREA. HE ASKED ME QUESTIONS REGUARDING THE CAR IF IT WAS IN AN ACCIDENT ECT. HE THEN REQUESTED I GIVE HIM THE VIN NUMBER. MOM DIDNT RAISE NO FOOL SO I FIGURED IT WAS A SCAM. TOLD HIM I WOULD CALL HIM BACK NEVER DID.. WHY WOULD THEY WANT THE VIN #?

I have received 4 messages from 469-606-5167 due to an add from Craigslist Milwaukee Wi.
They call me by name and make like they are interested in buying the vehicle.
I check the box on Craiglist I don't not want solicitors

My father-in-law works at a dealership and says he uses the same service.  It's legitimate.

Called about a car I posted on on craigslist, They are hijacking phone numbers off of craig's list called me two times so far today I have asked them to put me on there no call list.  And I told them if I get another call I will take legal action against them.

GOT MESSAGE ABOUT MY CAR, WHICH I DON'T OWN A 'CAR' !  ANOTHER SCAM!  AND I HAVE REGISTERD MY PHONE ON DO NOT CALL LIST!  STILL GET CALLS!!!!   JUST GOES TO SHOW YOU THAT 'SCAMMERS' CAN GET ANYONES PHONE NUMBERS!!!

I just lowered  price to a ridiculous amount  on my craigslist Ad and then changed the number to 469-6065167. Now everyone will be calling them to buy my car,  even the lowlife scum at the dealers.

CarOffer.com calls me from 469-606-5167 on a daily basis. Harvested my cellphone number off Craigslist. I reported them to FTC, BBB, Craigslist and the Donotcall.gov and emailed them and called them to be removed and threatened with lawsuit, which I will follow up if they call me again. I am not joking. I will sue CAROFFER dot com if they call me again. Costs me money every time they call my cellphone.

Seriously people.....

1. No one without access to an actual DEALER can cut a key to your car based on the VIN number and the dealer should only do it once you have proven ownership (because yes a dealer can cut a key based on the VIN, this is a GOOD THING).  All this aside, if someone could just get a VIN and cut keys....why do it through Craiglist when they can walk through any parking lot in the world and  get the VIN right off your car (bottom drivers corner of your windshield on the dash).

2. Here is an idea, BLOCK THE NUMBER....most all phones these days and most all cell phone carriers offer this. Android phones for instance you can block the number permanently (or until you unblock it) by simply pressing on the number in your call log and follow the prompts.

Do not call lists will do you ZERO good for companies like this as they are getting your number off Craigslist and similar sights where its been posted by YOU. And I bet many of you do not even realize your phone number is publicly visible on Facebook as well do you??

I got a call from this number, I ignored it and got a voice mail. It was in fact from caroffer.com and I am sure they are a legit company but I also suspect they will low ball you on the purchase price. I deleted the vm and if by some chance they call me again I will block the number. Its not the end of the world, no reason to be up in arms and stupid angry, good grief
