Got a call on my cell no VM left....

Same thing happened to me.  I don't know anyone in Tx

We keep getting calls from this number asking for someone that does not reside here. I have asked them repeatedly not to call us but they continue. I am very, very frustrated. My husband and I are retired and its an effort to get to the phone

Southwest Credit Systems: This company uses an exchange system with multiple area codes/phone numbers.  They are not actually located in the area code where the call originates. They will sometimes try using your local area code to try and trick you into answering.

It's likely a valid debt collection call.

Not sure who all they collect for, but I do know they collect outstanding debt for the North Texas Toll Authority (NTTA).  

I know this because I just had to call them regarding some outstanding toll charges.  The NTTA website directed me to them for the outstanding charges.  So it was legitimate.  Then I realized that they had been calling me too.  I just never answered.

If you live in or have driven through the DFW area, drive the toll roads, and don't have a valid toll tag, they may be trying to reach you.  I know the toll authority has been cracking down on unpaid debts.

I finally called the number and its a collection agency. That's the problem with reusing cell phone numbers I got the number of a person who is in extreme debt. They were nice enough to remove my number from their system.

I received a call from this number today on my cell phone.  It is a debt collector.  In my case, they had the wrong number.  The voice when you answer says "If this is SO-AND-SO, press 1, if this is not SO-AND-SO, press 2".  I pressed 2 'cause it wasn't me, and hung up the phone.  This is the first time I've received a call from this number.
